They accepted all the wealth their forefathers worked to give them and got stingy with it when it was their time to turn around and pass it on.
Thinking about passing 150 grand to both kids so they can upgrade housing.

I don't know if it's true, but I read years ago that more Canadians volunteered to join the US Army (to gain citizenship), and fight in Viet Nam, than Americans went to Canada to dodge the draft.

They were the generation being drafted and shipped off to fight in Vietnam.
Only those born from '46 to the early '50's were drafted and sent to Vietnam. The draft ended in 1973.

All the vocal hate for old people has convinced me to turn my back completely on anyone without grey hair.
I am more likely to drive over a young adult laying in the middle of the road than I am to attempt to render aid. You kids always bitching about your elders can just go ahead and live on your own without any knowledge being passed down.

This is exactly what happened.
But the OT is the Boomer Board so you'll get minimal agreement here.
Good news is, their time will be up soon enough.

These are the morons that are scared to get a license and drive a car. We aren't really going to worry about what they think.

Arguing about which generations are better or worse is such a low IQ exercise.

You don’t speak German or Japanese because of that generation.

Boomers moto was don't trust anyone over 30 then when they turned 60 they created ageism. That's all you need to know. The "me" generation is still all about themselves and damn the world that will come after.
Their parents hated them, their kids do too...we'll be cleaning up the boomer mess for the next 200 years

Everyone was just trying to control us boomers. And they played us.

I’m not a Boomer, I’m Gen-X (the coolest generation IMO) but I love
Boomers from a pop culture standpoint, They gave us the greatest music &
films , books, etc. of the 60’s-80’s and started so many lifestyles that we
take for granted today ie, Kung Fu, The early 70’s Gay Movement (Harvey
Milk) , early 70’s Women’s Lib. -(take it fwiw , a very divided issue) Chisolm & Steinem,
Then came Punk in the late 70’s which really started in the early 70’s but became mainstream later in the decade.
If anything , I Love Boomers for 1 thing —Disco!????????
I was a wee lad when disco was at its peak and my favorite era is the late 70’s early 80’s —“Disco” era

The passing of wealth from the Baby Boomers to their heirs will be the largest transfer of generational wealth in the history of the world.
This retarded shite gets parroted in every one of these threads. Boomer elites have hoarded all of the wealth in this country and written the rules to keep it that why.
That’s why people hate boomers. The ones that run this country not only ruined it, but pulled the rug up with them when they went

Can we stop with this generation bullshite?

I’ll add this, millennials and future generations will be the first generations in US history who will seem to be worse off than their predecessors. And I vehemently disagree with them being “lazy” or whatever. I believe it’s due to their futures being stolen from them. All the outsourcing of jobs, and influx of cheap labor, wages flattening out but prices of everything not.
I do think prior generations are to blame for that shite and I don’t really know how you can refute it.
Arguing against yourself in the same post

war that was only experienced by a small minority of their group and had absolutely no effect on the domestic life other than the radical activists.
Seriously? That war was on the nightly news every night for years. This at a time when there weren’t any other options to get your info - no internet, none of the tools we now have available. TV, radio and print media were it for information. Being marinated in news about bombings, casualty numbers, atrocities, protests at home, etc. does something to the national psyche. Not to mention worry that you or a family member are going to get their number called. Grow tf up!
Re: stingy with our money - my family has been generous with us over the years, and we plan to do the same for the younger generation. Of course, they might have to wait for us to check out first, but that’s just how it goes. Want to make sure we have enough to stay out of a third-world staffed living situation if we can help it.
