Maybe they hit Zasu on a good service night. That plus plating and timing of courses.

My one trip to Zasu was exceptional. Service, food, everything.

Have done LPG once, they are deserving. Maybe not the most creative menu, but everything else is up to par.

Did Coquette recently and the service would disqualify them. It was slow and too non-chalant. Food was fine. Probably ordered wrong.

Can’t speak to Saffron, August, or GW Fins…but I’m sure those three are close to a star.

One place I haven’t seen anyone mention that seems tailor made for a star is Gautreaus. Wonder if the critics made it there or not.

Great lunch spot. Wouldn't really call it great value though and they do the "15% on top of the listed price so it goes to our staff" then still as for a tip on the tab.

Well they originally did that to be a "tipless" place like you're seeing in some bigger cities.

People lost their minds and the ultra libs that Mason bows to came out attacking him for it so he changed it to that plus tip

So which Baton Rouge restaurants made the list?

You’ll never believe this, but Michelin just announced there was an accidental omission. Commander’s Palace has been awarded a star based on new information that came to light regarding touchdownjeebus having had business accounts with multiple fine dining establishments including, but not limited to, Commander’s Palace.

In fairness, most restaurants that have tried to go tipless have not been able to pay staff what they were used to making via tips. So it failed and they went back to tips.

Mason should have just reversed the 15% tack-on instead of doing both.

Although, they're short order service, so maybe he had no choice since tips are far less generous for that style of restaurant.

About a year ago. It may have been a bit longer. It was when he was picking out silverware for his newest spot in the casino, because we saw him at a table adjacent picking out silverware.

True story.

You went after EJ took over and the entire remodel and did the full tasting menu?

If so and you think it is not as good as Commander's I don't know what to tell you.

I like Commander's more than most but the two aren't comparable, at least in terms of what Michelin goes for

Not terribly uncommon. House accounts. Don’t have them any longer because there isn’t a need. Plenty of businesses and firms still have house accounts.

MrGRT panicked because someone placed a fork on the floor at his Waffle House - so he diced, chunked, and topped like no one’s business

Then realized it wasn’t Michelin when the chair flew over his head.

You went to his place in the casino? You know that's not the place we are talking about right?

The New Emeril's opened in very late 2023 after a few month shut down to renovate. They also have a wine bar attached which is not full tasting menu, so that's not what they are referring to here either
