My post wasn't a reply to you, or even a reply to a reply to one of your posts
Might want to look at your post again chief.

I'm far from upset, Roger had an opinion which you agreed with and I questioned. Didn't mean to sound like a dick, had a long day and can't sleep. Nothing personal
Y'all are both cool with me, unless darth hasn't traded in the mom jeans

I don't care if people are trashy. Just made an observation.

So why exactly do any of you care about old money families? The Kids grow up entitled but have money so who gives a shite about what type of people they are. It's not like the directly effect you
More to your exact question. Old money screws with you if it doesn't behave like old money.
example: The stereotypical estate. Summer in the Hamptons, type elitism is where old money belongs. Away from the masses.
But "new" Old money is living in the city center.
The issue this creates is the comparrision effect.
"how the frick are these people just sitting around drinking coffee at 10:30 am on a Tuesday?"
"how is that 18 y/o driving a ferrari"
"those are $500 jeans that dude is wearing with flip flops walking his dog, while I'm stuck in commute traffic, making almost $100k per year but living in a ghetto because a 1 bd apartment is $3k/month...and that dude has some job wear he can drink coffee at 10 am , walk his dog at 2pm, and wear $500 jeans...while living in a neighborhood that 1bds rent for $5k/month?"
The children of the wealthiest tend to bunch in certain neighbohoods of theh biggest cities. So styles and trends permeate those markets.....think about paprazzi and stars in public:
They are showy anonymous and make you feel a failure for only being mildly successful. Go back to Nantucket!

Well we all know Ryan Goslong has done nothing in his career and is living off old money.
wasn't the point. I said stars and paprazzi...actors want to look like "everyday people"...but there's something obviously different with their fashion parade.
New "old" money dresses and sticks out similary.
Probably where the phrase "do you know who i am!??!" when snubbed in customer service came from ....Old money never had to tell people, old money trying to act like one the "paupers" had to break character.

'm wondering what it's like in other cultures, is it the same here, the poor have to be gaudy?
Oh the irony. Since you don't travel and have to ask such questions, I can only assume you are poor and trashy.

Have you ever hopped off the train in Budapest at 4 am to have some hot Lithuanian prostitue try to pick you up from the terminal. Right when you get interested a 6'7 meat head and bald, Albanian look toward you with some "make a move smirk, I dare ya" smirk on his face. Yes, trash is everywhere ya chavy bloak.

Travel just in the states. The question really arose from seeing FOB ghetto dressed Asians. Why would you go 4000 miles and embrace that style of dress?
It just struck me as odd to gravitate toward that style.
Hell, maybe I should start a fashion line of what poor people in 3rd world countries wear and sell it to the rich here.

I have spent the last 5 years in Asia. The answer to your question is yes
Posted on 2/23/17 at 6:23 am to Kujo
Everywhere you go you will find upper, middle, and lower class.

To call someone "trashy" is to make a judgment about someone who deviates from social norms, and people do that all over the world. So I guess the answer is "yes."

What you don't see in countries that have real poverty are poor people flaunting "wealth." If you are truly poor, you can't afford gold teeth, chains, diamond studs, or designer brand jeans. Most "poor" people in America have no concept of poverty, hence the ability to be "trashy."
