I keep a battery tender on my truck (left outside) plugged into a preset 24 hr timer to keep it topped off. Easy cold start in the morning. And as mentioned, wipers off the windshield.

She is.

But, when you come in from the freezing cold, wet with melted frost, feet wet from your boots soaked through, from trying to figure out why your heat pump ain't pumping heat no more, and make a muddy boot print in the house, and realize your options are either clean it up right now or catch all Holy hell for it, a dirty house in that moment doesn't sound so bad.

Wrong. The flatter the tire, the worse you’re off. You want less surface on the snow, not more. Skinnier the tire, easier you maneuver

Do you here this on TikTok?

Make sure you have blankets in the car, your AAA paid up, and your gas tank at least half full. It also doesn't hurt to have a gallon of water in there as well. In other words, look at what the Midwest does every fall to prepare for the season.

At home make sure your furnace has been properly maintained, your carbon monoxide detectors are working, and your heating vents are opened/closed where you want them to be. All of that is completely normal.

The weirdest thing for a southern storm would be Covid-like hoarding of salt. For starters you don't need a 10lb bag of it. If you want to use salt, a gallon should be plenty for the walkway to your car. With temps not staying below 32° for long you're better off using sand anyways.

I did the same. Once the temps drop below freezing I put a stick in the turd so once it's frozen solid I just pick the stick up and chunk the turd into the woods.

Tis the price you pay for hot wife who is also an excellent mother and keeps a spotless house.

You eat the cookie over a plate and take your boots off outside and your clothes if they're dirty enough OR you get your face chewed off and clean the mess you made and bring home chicken filet the next day.

Its a damn problem in wintertime.

One snow storm, I absolutely had to get out and drive in it. I few 4 80lb bags of cement in the bed of my truck for extra weight and traction. It worked

Defrost set to hot, wipers up so you can run out, start her up and run back in for 15-20 minutes. Come back out scrape/brush remaining snow and jump in warmed up vehicle.

Honestly, up north I’d look forward to a good snow storm to go driving. We’d call it “bogging”. But down in the south it aint healthy cause it’s usually more ice than snow, bad slick super ice, many of the roads are pitched bad for driving on snow/ice, and them ditches can be unforgiving. The snow plow drivers dont get enough practice and probably worst of all is the other drivers not knowing and having a lot of experience in bogging through snow.
