PSA: if you swap out propane tanks they only come with about 3 gallons or so. In a 5 gallon tank.

Get it topped off at your local hardware store if you don't get them filled there

Cleaning the house like crazy for what?

To stay home in it?

I bought several cases of beer, steaks, wings, charcoal, and several other food items to have a fun arse grill session each day at the house

Doing a Boston Butt tomorrow and ribs on Tuesday. Probably going to do another steak tonight.

Wrong. The flatter the tire, the worse you’re off. You want less surface on the snow, not more. Skinnier the tire, easier you maneuver

Wrong on ice, the roads will be iced not snow drifts. More surface area on the frozen roadway.

You should lower your tire pressure to get better traction in the snow.

The sixty degree temperature difference will air them down just fine.

Sprayed silicone polish on both vehicles headlights, door seals, hood seals, door handles. Sprayed wd40 inside the locks. Made sure there's a cold weather bag in the wife's car. Mine stays in the bed of my truck.

Same things I do when we go to the northwest in blizzard season.

First truck without a winch in about 5 vehicles. So I have a few tow straps and a comealong in the bed. Chain saw is full and everything I need to run it is also in the bed of the truck. If any trees do block the road leading in during a storm, it's kind of an understanding that the men all grab all our stuff and clear it out.

I'm assuming the same hurricane rules will apply if we get ice instead of snow.

Stay in Shreveport (right now) instead of going home to Baton Rouge. No snow expected up here!

We made a big pot of gumbo and subscribed to a couple of free streaming trials (Apple, Amazon). Also have a generator if icing takes down transmission/distribution lines.

It’ll be boring, but actually looking forward to being ‘trapped’ with the family and watch a few good shows and share some engaged meals.

Nothing. Husband has to fly out in the middle of it, the house is on a generator, and my freezer is bursting at the seams with food I’ve cooked over the past year.

Unless friends lose power and come over, times are normal.

Remember, if you have aerial lines for internet to your house, that service leg may freeze the signal if the temperature gets low enough.

Use pool noodles or spray foam on the cable to keep it from freezing and losing internet access.

Gonna miss TikTok and all the neat things I learned from it, but a least my family is protected against frozen signal and I can

Honestly, I am just talking shite. My only experience driving in the snow is, while at a sales conference in Pittsburgh, I was chosen to get behind the wheel of a Hertz Crown Victoria and drive it a few hundred feet down a steep unplowed hill into the parking lot of a Marriot. I did it somewhat successfully with two complete 360's (a 720?) and, from a top speed of 7 mph, was able it actually stop it before doing any major damage. With the help of a row of shrubs and a light pole all covered by a snowdrift.

Do yourself a favor and binge Slow Horses. Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb is one of the top series characters of all-time.

The wife and started Severence because we heard so much about it. The weirdness is ok but moving slow. About to bail. Bad Monkey is my next choice.

She asked me earlier if I think the baseboards looked clean enough.

Clean enough for what?

I am lucky though, she’s just nervous about loosing power.
Even though we have a generator
