I always ask candidates for a reason NOT to hire them. It's a question they likely don't get from anybody else and the expression on their faces are usually pretty amazing.

I took a psychological exam once that had some fricked up questions on it.
Do you think you were disciplined enough as a child?
Do you wish your parents would have hugged you more?
Pick a magazine to subscribe to
A) Popular mechanics
B) Home and garden
C) Guns and Ammo
D) Celebrity Tabloids
Do you drink? How much? How many drinks per day? What days?
Do you think people like you more when you are drinking?
( Fwiw I failed the test)

Easy answer: "Because you're scared I'm better at your job than you"

See, that's just fricking stupid. That is not a creative question to get to know someone.. that is textbook trick question. And honestly, an employer pulling shite like that just tells me everything I need to know. It shows that you get off on making people uncomfortable and get cheap kicks out of asking a question that there is really no good answer to other than some stupid cheeseball lie like, "Don't hire me if want everything done wrong".
Someone told me the other day that in an interview when they were asked if they had any more questions, they said, "Yeah, when do I start?"
Even if you had good banter with the interviewer, this just seems cringey

My favorite question to ask was "what was your favorite job that you had on this resume and why?" Get them to tell you about it a little bit then "why did you leave it?"
Sometimes you get some really good answers that make a lot of sense and then sometimes folks call themselves out.
Also, they said it earlier but when you ask,"tell me about yourself", 9 times out of 10, you will find out if they have kids, are married, sometimes what church they go to, and if you are lucky, other stuff that you can't ask them.

"Tell me something that's true, that almost nobody agrees with you on."

If the Zombie Apocalypse breaks out, where is the first place that you are going to and why?

Where do you stand on Black Lives Matter?
Posted on 12/1/15 at 11:13 am to Hammertime
That question is easy anyway. Generally, someone's "favorite" job isn't one they were fired from or something. It is usually the job they have the best relationship with.

The Industrial Revolution was neither "industrial" nor was it a "revolution".
Why was it called that?

Do you report sexual harassment?

Don't be that douchebag, dude.

"Name your favorite Disney character and why."
Had this one during a grad school interview. It caught me by surprise and I think I gave a pretty good BS answer to it. After getting into school, I asked the director why they asked that question and she replied "to see if you can think on your feet".

IMHO, lighthearted questions would be funny

Ask them where they got their shoes
Posted on 12/1/15 at 11:40 am to Hammertime
yea, honestly I just want to see how enjoyable they are to be around.
I'm more worried about their personality than I am about their previous work history. I can train them and mold them how I want. But I need people who can work and have fun here

Another good one is "what do you consider to be the worst decision you have made as a supervisor and how did it impact your company."
