I too thought this was ridiculous new trend in the same line of elaborate engagement trips. Adding yet another expense to an already huge waste of money that the average wedding has become (All you need is church/reception hall/open bar/band/dance floor). I got her something very nominal because it seemed I had to... I think it was a cheap gopro for us to use on the honeymoon.

Poor Kramer. First Calvin Klein steals his cologne idea, now this.

I got mine a bracelet with her new initials on it and had my Best Man give it to her (the bracelet, not the D).

Yeah, it was called a $14,000 fricking ring.
With how much weddings cost I would contemplate bailing if my soon to be wife was expecting anything else.

Curious how you got it off yourself.

I got mine some jewelry to wear on the wedding day. Gave it to her with a preist’s blessing and all.

Ours is a week before Xmas so I’m getting her some David Yurman or Mikimoto pearls she can wear walking down the isle. I’m pretty sure her and her mother are giving me one of her fathers old Rolex’s.

This seems a tad counter-productive...

Nope. That is the most ridiculous thing IMO. You already dropped a few thousand on an engagement ring and a wedding band.

My husband and I decided to skip day of wedding gifts and put the money towards a ballin honeymoon.
