At what point is it ok to tone down the gift for your Wedding Anniversary?

At some point it seems like a small gift and dinner should be enough....????

4 year anniversary coming up next month. We don't really do huge gifts for our anniversaries. Never spent more than about $200 on any of the gifts so far.

The gift doesn't have to be expensive to be good.

Today is my 35th and my wife and i haven't exchanged gifts for 10 years. I'll just grill us some steaks.

If you’ve chosen wisely, material things shouldn’t matter.

My wife is truly happy with spending our anniversary renting a redbox movie and having the kids watch it with us.

It's not too late to start now. If you're really worried about it, wrapping a smaller (less expensive?) gift in nice wrapping paper goes a long way.

Never really. IF you are smart, you will start giving gifts that benefit you.

30th anniversary this year, gave my wife two weeks in the Caribbean. Enjoyed the hell out of her gift. Sat in the sun and drank for two weeks on the beach.

Only been married 5 years and we don’t really exchange gifts. Usually we take a small weekend trip somewhere to celebrate. This past anniversary we didn’t travel so went to a really nice restaurant and gave each other a card.

Depends on your girl. Depends on how high maintenance she is and how much of a ho you are. If she's your queen and you're her loyal subject, then get that Amex out and get to work.
