Apparently you don't either in this case because he "took his secret to the grave".
That was taken autistically literal.
He sought to attract clouds, and build on existing cloud systems - and in doing so would result in rain.

The .gov link I shared goes as far as 56 inches.

I’ve got an invention that’s going to make it rain an ungodly amount of water in Baton Rouge over then next 24 hours.
Don’t believe me...just wait until tomorrow.
Do you see how stupid this sounds if you have the meteorological knowledge to predict the weather?

Hey, how’d you know my nickname?
While waiting on Barry to make up its mind, I looked up rainfall records for all of southern Cali
Here’s what I got
From
https://www.weather.gov/media/sgx/documents/weatherhistory.pdf
A History of Significant Weather Events in Southern California Organized by Weather Type
1.14-21.1916
Widespread heavy rains in Southern California. 8.5” fell during this period in San Bernardino. 16.71” in 24 hours at Squirrel Inn (near Lake Arrowhead) during 1.16 and 1.17, a record 24 hour rainfall for California until 1943. 12.73” fell in the Morena neighborhood of San Diego from 1.10-1.13. More than 9” fell in two storms in the Coachella Valley. Previous storms had deposited deep snow in the mountains, adding to the runoff.
1.25-30.1916
Heavy rain exacerbates the flooding earlier in the month. Monthly rainfall totals for 1.1916 ranged from 7.56” at San Diego to 57.91” at Dorman’s Ranch (in San Bernardino Mtns., 2,500’ elev.) 5” fell in less than 12 hours in San Diego.

I would think the official rainfall in remote, non-developed areas 20-60 miles outside of San Diego in 1916 isn't officially accounted for.
So, instead of going with the 56 inches that's recognized as possible on a .gov site, they've gone with 30.
Basically every bridge in San Diego was destroyed.
$8 million dollars of damage.
I think there's little doubt there was at least 30 inches of water in that region.

I've posted that link.
But thanks.

Hey, man.
If you want to disregard official weather.gov reports of 57 inches of rain, and say that it's unlikely even 30 inches of rain fell.. then go for it.

A 20 foot tower, you say. Why didn't he just fling his magic dust off the roof of his house?

I'm just looking for actual facts. Six pages in and all you've posted is a podcast, a couple of unsourced articles that don't even make any definitive claims, and "stories". Where are your facts?
I'll just leave it here until you start posting verifiable facts and primary sources.

Now take a trip down the HAARP rabbit hole, which is a verified weather manipulation system that could rather easily ignite and steer hurricanes.
I thought HAARP started earthquakes?

In January of 1916 it rained over 30 inches in San Diego as a result of the 20 foot tower Hatfield built 20 miles outside the city where he released a chemical mixture that attracted clouds and brought rain.
You got some proof of this?

Are you curious enough to investigate yourself?
You seem to have already done this so just post some links.

Ok, what is the end game? Why create hurricanes? Who profits?

FYI, HT
The 57” fell over one hundred miles away from San Diego in San Bernardino Mts
