I've worked in a corporate office environment for 18 years and realized that the one suit that I owned had holes in it recently.

I had a death in my family and had to scramble out to buy one. I had another funeral 3 months later too. I'll probably never own more than one though.

So OP hasn’t been anywhere nice in two years.

I own the company and wear what I want..mostly T-shirt and shorts

Hate, hate, hate it. Tie is in the damn way, serves no purpose, and costs a ridiculous amount for a strip of silk. As for the coat, this is Louisiana. I don’t want that unneeded coat making me sweat and then costing $$ to dry clean.

And I don’t want to waste time tying the damned tie when I’m getting dressed. Every time I put one on, I get pissed off at how our society thinks wearing such useless crap is a good thing.

Why not a feather bonnet or pierced nose? They’re just as arbitrary and useless.

One's a zoot suit, vintage so doesn't really count.

One is a funeral suit( solid black)
Then I have a grey suit, a navy suit, a black pinstripe suit, lastly a seersucker suit.

I actually like it. But, I also don’t live in south Louisiana. I’d probably feel differently if I did.
