Trying to decide which is more annoying...this sanctimonious wall of text, or the people on Facebook trying make it edgy with the WEAR YOUR frickING MASK posts..... hmm...this...this is more annoying.

May as well be. Some of y’all would blindly follow the government off a fricking cliff.
The government suggested, not mandated, we wear masks to slow the spread - not stop it. The masks they suggest are surgical masks or cloth. They are either very cheap or free at certain health centers. The CDC shows what a mask can do - it doesn't limit germs from coughing, sneezing, talking, but it does stop transmission of 85% of germs within 4 feet, and 95% of germs from 6 feet. Not bad. They're also commonplace in surgery centers and dentist offices. They've worn them for years, and don't look to daunting to be honest.
Frankly, it seems like the government gave us a pretty useful suggestion, backed by easily explainable research. Hardly a kick in the nuts.

At first we were asked. In May here in Washington they issued a directive with no penalties. In June they are to be worn in public statewide with a misdemeanor. Now they just made so that if a business serves you and you're not wearing a mask the business will get fined. When will it end?

The only RCT of cloth masks, that I know of, was done in 2015:
A cluster randomised trial of cloth masks compared with medical masks in healthcare workers

Penetration of cloth masks by particles was almost 97% and medical masks 44%.

The ONLY reason to wear a mask is if you are sick and you cough and sneeze openly like a fricking asshat.
Or, if you're not sure if you're sick and you openly cough and sneeze in public.
SO, what can you do if you are fricking asshat that loves to walk around coughing and sneezing? You could just carry a damn tissue and not wear a facemask.

FAU measured using lasers Again, if the virus is transmitted via aerosol then this is useless info. Since it will easily penetrate any mask and just float around in the air waiting for you to breath it in.
Stop sneezing and coughing in public... or carry a tissue. AND KEEP YOUR HANDS CLEAN!

Nothing about this reads as something a “constitutional law student” would say.
It’s almost as if ....never mind you’re trolling

Now, Mythbusters says go with the elbow....
YouTube - Sneeze like a boss
I say go with the elbow or disposable tissue and use hand sanitizer afterwards. Because carrying around your virus filled facemask on your face after filling it with snot is disgusting. I want to puke just thinking about it.

You’re preaching to the deaf, dumb and blind. They have an opinion and are unwilling to change it.
I thought the masks were dumb, too, because they are ineffective. Then I read that the R Naught goes below zero in countries with widespread mask use. So I’m wearing a fricking mask. If we can keep this shite from spreading I HAVE MORE FREEDOM TO DO WHAT I WANT. But, you know, muh pawluhtix don’t allow me to see reason.
People are dumb, dude. And nowhere is it more obvious that a lot of Americans have lost all faith in the credibility of the government.

We did this. Why are we still wearing masks?

My Con Law teacher told me that if I can smell a fart through underwear and pants that mask ain't stopping no Covid!

Give me your thoughts on this.
If it's a place like a doctor's office or other facility that people HAVE to go to, ok, I'll wear a mask.
However, people dont have to go inside of grocery stores, walmart, etc.
They can do delivery or pickup.
So why should I feel compelled to wear a mask when these at risk individuals dont even HAVE to be in these stores to get what they need?

Try talking science to these people you can't. They will just say oh that is a bogus study or whatever fricking Dunbar's reason they still want to believe in their safety blanket.
