I don't understand why adults are not on Facebook. Businesses update that page before anything else. There's no downside.

He is right most places will update Facebook every couple of days at least with updates. Especially restaurants. I go there first anytime I need info on a place.

TikTok is amazing how easily you get sucked in. It is also amazing how well it molds what you see around what you like. I like the comedy sketches and now I barely get the stupid dancing people and mostly get comedy.

I hate that it's a Chinese Commie virus info-sucking app but it's a really sell done app, and it's taking over.

Part of my career runs through Instagram.

And Tik Tok has some great content. The algorithm is scary (the Chinese will know you quickly and know you well).

But Tik Tok isn’t just teenagers doing stupid dances. Takes a few days of them watching your eyes through your camera, tracking your thumb movements, timing how long you spend on a video, and reading what you “like.” Then it’s nothing but content that you enjoy.

2 weeks in quarantine and I can tell you the reason. That shite gets boring eventually.

Zoom is Chinese too, and it's become by far the most popular video conference app for corporate America. The development team is based in China and it's not encrypted. Meaning the Chinese can access your videos.

Yeah. I’ve looked into it all and with kids and a job and all that. I have zero desire to learn these new apps or sit and watch them for hours on end. I don’t see how responsible adults have the time.

Don't get me wrong I love it. I enjoy the YouTube Compilations when I'm drinking before bed. But with the BS going on with China and tensions rising, I think they'll exploit it. Was hoping there would be an American alternative.

There is a Singapore app out there I came across while searching. Has a similar layout but I imagine it's all very unfunny Asian girls doing dance moves.

Had no idea Zoom was a Chinese company and no encryption. That's scary.

Being from China i guess following is not surprising, but it's in bed in Communist Party and openly shares info with it, hires members for corporate jobs, and blocks and/or censors anything it wants.

Seeing some of the privacy & security issues Zoom is having including recent past issues brought up now that everyone is using it maybe that billionaires born in China regardless of citizenship still are owned by communist party.

Edit: zoom is technically an American company but owned/controlled by a Chinese born billionaire who later became an American citizen (I think). Some of its issues were blatant.

Why’s that? You don’t network through it?
Or just use it to put up your picture and stalk people at your firm?
