Would be curious. I haven't been there in about 40 years. I don't know of anybody who goes.

We go with our daughter. They are doing some major renovations and it is becoming very nice. I would recommend people go. They are doing some Audubon level updating.

Same. I enjoy posting on the OT too much to catch this ban.

The Jackson zoo is literally in a war zone. It should have been moved years ago. Needs to be closed

This!!! Its literally in the worst part of Jackson. Not that there are many good parts. They tried to move it to the lakeland dr area by the childrens museum but that got shot down(pun intended).

Our zoo here in Fresno was in rough shape too. Then we passed Measure Z, which is a 1/10 of 1% sales tax back in 2004. Now we have a great zoo. Attendance has skyrocketed with the new exhibits and it’s a source of pride for the community. The next expansion is bringing Nile River crocodiles and hippos to our African safari.

I know it’s a frequent topic on this board, but what is happening in Jackson deserves more attention nationally. There are a lot of lessons to be learned, and many other cities are headed down this same path.

Nationally, they always blame the wrong people. So, no.

It’s okay, not great. They are dumping a ton of money into it finally though. Will be very nice in a year or so.

Or your employees are skimming, which is much more likely.

there was a plan to build a new zoo in a much better area of town but it was of course shot-down because of "muh racism". now the animals are dying. of course, lumumba was behind it all and corruption won-out over logic.

I remember as a child growing up in that area the Zoo was fun, well kept. I have not been there in several decades but from conversations with friends in the area I fail to see how the Zoo survives. Sadly, with democratic leadership this is the new norm.
