I'd be careful with that statement. The origin of this country has involved a lot of things that are now considered offensive and no longer allowed to be even referenced.

We have evolved into a country who bows to the minority if they are even a slight bit offended or uncomfortable.

I’m more than a bit irked at the prospect of the state spending hundreds of thousands of dollars to defend a patently unconstitutional law, yes.

As bad as it hurts some to admit, this country was founded by Christian men and women and it is based on Christian values.

One of those values is tolerance, including freedom to worship any way you want.

Tolerance is not the same thing as embracing our differences, it is allowing them to occur, and let people live and let live.

That said, we aren't a nation of Hindus, they had no historical significance in our founding nor how we are currently governed.

It would be ridiculous to put that document on display in our classrooms.

The law does not define how it must be displayed. In most cases, we are looking at a small plaque among the hundreds of other things that are hung up on the wall in classrooms.

And that somehow makes it less unconstitutional? Look I am a Catholic but there is a separation between church and state for a reason.

Fine with me. Vishu isn't that bad looking. She could do a lot with all of those hands.

This country was founded on Christian values. No the government should officially sponsor a religion but if you're values are not centered around Christianity sit down and shuts up. No the Church of Satan is not a freaking church so sit down and shut up.

You're an idiot. Imagine we get a scientologist governor in the future and he declares that if you don't believe in his silly religion than you can sit down and shut up...

Vishnu is male. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, of course

You’re probably looking for Shiva

I said on a previous thread that I genuinely feel badly for the attorney who is going to have to stand up and argue with a straight face that this law was passed for non-religious reasons

Truth. Separation of church and state maybe even more important now.

I would be 100% opposed to a law mandating the display of pride or BLM flags.

You lying hypocrite.

Essentially life is suffering and when you die you are reborn. It’s an “endless” cycle of death and rebirth where your deeds in your past life dictate your next life. The end goal is to reach enlightenment which ends the cycle of reincarnation and you obtain that through meditation and living a pure and good life.
