As quickly as it happened I'm betting Parolin.

Yeah, probably someone familiar to the Cardinals.

Hoping Pizzaballa though.

Modern conclaves yes, which is more relevant to the poster's question.

I guess it doesn't really matter taking conclaves into account that happened +200 years ago.

It’s similar to the last 2. If I’m not mistaken Benedict was elected on the 2nd day , the 4th ballot. Francis was 2nd day 5th ballot. This one is 4th ballot maybe?

I'm happy with any of them but obviously would prefer one of the more traditional candidates. Even one of the "progressive" ones could be good if they're less ambiguous than Francis was. A lot of the issues came from him not choosing his words in a way that made it clear that doctrine has not changed.

I'm not Catholic and I have no idea really but I'm guessing it's Tagle. I hope it's not but that's my guess.

I just hope that they all had fun and that the winner picks the name Daryl.

Wouldn’t have minded a conclave that took 1-2 weeks to be honest with you

Technically... any male baptized in the Catholic Church is eligible to be Pope

Though yes... there's basically no chance realistically that the new Pope comes from outside the Sistine Chapel anytime soon

They should have sent some pink smoke out of the chimney and made folks think they'd picked a woman pope.

This. And supposedly Parolin had to "fix" some of the communications messes that Francis got into, so hopefully he's learned that lesson.

yeah, both Francis and Benedict were on day two, but much later in the day.

Francis was around 7pm Rome time, Benedict around 11pm Rome time.

this is a very early decision.
