Drone sighting. Swiss Guard is going to shoot that out of the air. No recording over the walls during Conclave.
Getting reports of additional security entering St. Peter Square.

I'm watching on Inside the Vatican FB page. They just said there is an increase in security in the square right now. No reason was stated.

The next pope will be the one China bought. No doubt.

Do they talk about candidates in between votes or just keep voting over and over again?
No, while they are locked in the Sistine Chapel, they are not allowed to speak to each other. When they make their choice, they write the name on their piece of paper, bring it up front and turn it in. Then they return to their seat.
There is no conversation amongst the cardinals until the ballot session is concluded. The whole thing is very quiet and very prayerful, unlike what Hollywood would like us to believe.

Are they not allowed to speak to each other at their meals or in their dorm rooms?

I imagine St. Peter's Square is a jucy target for the religion of peace right about now.
I'm actually surprised some of those exploding people haven't made their way there yet. You know how they love to show off their dedication to their false god in hopes of getting 72 little kids to molest in whatever afterlife they think they'll have.

Who cares who is elected by a handful of cardinals. It’s all for show, imo

I don't think this is correct. The are not alllowed to talk to the outside world but I do believe they can talk amongst themselves. There is no way to come to a consensus if no one ever speaks. I asked CoPilot and this is the answer that was given:
During the papal conclave, cardinals are sworn to secrecy and are sequestered in Vatican residences. While they are not allowed to communicate with the outside world, they do spend time together between voting rounds. However, the conclave process is designed to ensure that discussions remain private and free from outside influence.
The cardinals cannot use phones, computers, or other communication devices, and even their meals are monitored to prevent hidden messages. While informal discussions may happen, the official deliberations take place inside the Sistine Chapel during voting rounds.

Is that true? I thought there was all sorts of lobbying/consensus building.

Once a ballot session is over and they leave the chapel for one of the breaks, then yes they can speak to each other. However they are not supposed to reveal who they have voted for. They are sworn to secrecy and nothing said is allowed to leave the conclave, especially whom has voted for whom. The process is designed to be completely anonymous on whom votes for whom.
When they are in the ballot session, they may write down notes to go over, but before the session ends they must turn in their notes with their vote as those are all burned at the end of each session.
After all of the votes have been tallied, counted and confirmed. They poke a hole in each vote, and run a string through the holes. All the votes are strung together and then tossed into the furnace along with the notes.

I think you are talking about 2 different things. His post was only on the Sistine chapel voting time. At this point it is quiet. But this only part of their day. Outside the voting period is where the conversations happen

USA Today
Here is a USA Today article about the process. I think they are allowed to deliberate inside the Sistine Chapel.
Or maybe teh AI I asked inferred it cuz I just read the linked article and there isn't a clear answer either way really.

They were discussing this on Catholic radio yesterday. While in the Sistine Chapel they are not allowed to speak during the voting process. They come to a consensus after all the votes have been accounted for, counted and then tallied. Then it is announced if they have come to a consensus on a new Pope or not. After the process is over for the session, typically they have a series of prayers and then convene until the next ballot session.
They know how many cardinals are voting so they know how many votes should be turned in. After they count the votes they will announce which candidate got how many votes before the session is concluded.
Cardinal Dolan said it is one of the most quiet and prayerful experiences to be part of. There is really no talking except for the mass before hand, the promise of each cardinal to keep things secret, the announcing of the results and the prayers before they are dismissed.

Will the next vote be the last vote of the day?

The 3rd vote concludes around 5:30PM local time (Rome), which as of this moment was about 8 minutes ago.
If no decision has been made, then the final vote of the day concludes at around 7PM local time (Rome)

Please tell me how this will change the world? It doesn’t. I know it’s a very religious action, but there’s really nothing to see…
