Next vote (3rd today and 4th total) will be after lunch, probably around 11:30am EST and then immediately followed by a 2nd afternoon vote, which will probably take until 1:00pm EST
they gather at 9 am central, at least to what I saw on our Sunday visitor. It usually takes 1 to 1.5 hours to complete one vote.
Just as a reference, they gathered Rome time 9:30, we saw smoke after two votes at about 11:45 Rome time. So I would start watching around 10 central to see if there will be white smoke, then again about 11:30 central.
These are all estimates based on past conclaves so it could be at any time after like 9:30 central.

This morning I made it easier for the Cardinals to reach a decision.
I contacted the Vatican's public relations director and told him to remove my name from consideration.
I had no idea a Pope has to be Catholic.
I mean, why in the hell do people keep asking that question about is the Pope Catholic??

I’m calling it now. It will be Parolin.
My man Pizzaballa will be pope. It’s just not his time.
Hopefully not. If we don't get a pope today you can probably scratch most of the front runners off of the list (Which is a good thing). (Parolin, Tagle ... Hopefully Zuppi).
We just have to pray Cardinal Burke's block can hold strong. The church has to move in a different direction from Francis.
Also, I would not consider Pizzaballa a "front runner." While he began gaining traction online, that wasn't necessarily true on the ground.

The new Pope's Coat of Arms and FIsherman's Ring will have to have a Seagull incorporated, right? It only makes sense in these times...

I hear they’ll send up black smoke if the African guy wins
If it’s the white guy they’ll send up white smoke
If it’s the Italian guy they’ll send up black smoke
If it’s the white guy they’ll send up white smoke
If it’s the Italian guy they’ll send up black smoke

Do they talk about candidates in between votes or just keep voting over and over again?

Well people attend services with ole hayseed Billy Bob more than twice a year so perhaps he’s getting something right
Just a little more tithing so Pastor Billy Bob can get his new G6 and prosperity is right there for me!
I say this completely in jest as I have some very good Protestant friends, and they do a way better job in keeping people in my age group (under 35) attending services than us Catholics do. I have noticed a rebirth amongst my age range though in Catholics returning to church.

I would guess they do.

I mean, in between sacrificing virgins, tea and a rousing round robin FIFA 25 tournament.

Priest on ETWN (Mons. Landry) saying these opening votes are a referendum on Cardinal Parolin... if it's white smoke today he expects it to be Parolin & if it's black smoke today then he's expecting it to be someone else

I just don't see Parolin. He's been around too long and has too many enemies...
Also, Fat Pope; Thin PopE applies.

From what I remeber learning in HS, I think they do have "debate" sessions between votes. The rules basically are that no one can campaign for themselves but other cardinals can campaign for you. Meaning Pizza Boy can't run around the chapel telling everyone to vote for him but a different Cardinal (or group of cardinals most likely) can run around and try to gather support for the Pizza Man.
Its supposed to be a humility thing where no Cardinal is supposed to see himself as worthy of being Pope so anyone who says "I should be Pope" is proven to not be Pope worthy just by the act of thinking themselves worthy. Cardinals being human though, I would imagine that people wouldn't campaign for Pizza Baller without him somewhat acknowedging that he wants the job.

I wonder how long they do this between votes?

It is not typically very long. The cardinals are allowed to take notes during it, but those also must be burned with the ballots

3/4 AP cameras focused on the Seagulls. I really hope the nestling doesn't get burned. They really did shoot that chimney up straight through their nest.

There definitely is. Cultural Catholicism has diminished as its become less useful to people, but I think the upside is that what's left tends to be more invested and surging in a sense.
FWIW the same is happening in some protestant communities, reformed Christians in particular.

Drone sighting. Swiss Guard is going to shoot that out of the air. No recording over the walls during Conclave.

The Vatican media has a drone they're using.
