Well and there’s also something to the broken window approach Giuliani took in NYC.
Basically the theory goes if you arrest someone for breaking a window they don’t rob the car in the driveway next.
And if the guy who otherwise would’ve robbed the car in the driveway is in jail his friend isn’t as likely to either because there were consequences.
Statistically the same small group of criminals end up creating most of the crime so if you catch them on small stuff by the third time they’re charged it’s a repeat offender situation and off to a long prison term.
I just don’t think scared straight and work programs are going to fix things for 16 year olds who think recording themselves having a shootout in a public playground is a solid way to spend the afternoon.

She missed both women with those shots btw. Which surprises me about as much as the video in general.
The only part that moved the needle for me was that dumb broad recording (vertically) while dragging her small kid around.

The current trajectory cannot stand longterm. A correction will happen at some point. The only question is how bloody that correction is. Doubt it happens in our lifetime. But eventually it will.

100% agree with this. The hoodrats and the exploding people will have the pendulum swing at some point, and when it does everyone will be crying racism and shite.

None of what you said above is necessarily wrong in the short term, but more police state is not something we want or need. The rest of us shouldn't have to suffer severe consequences, especially for victimless crimes, because of a small minority. More government is never the right answer.
You don't fix 16 year olds. They're children. The ones already doing that are, statistically, a lost cause. Imprison them (and their parents too if warranted) and give them max sentences and be done with them. Perhaps a mixed approach where you use totalitarian police state like you mentioned for short term, and then implement my measure long term, but there's exactly zero chance government gives up power once it acquires it, so just enforce the laws on the books, max sentences, and be done with it. The government has to stop acting as the head of household or nothing will change.
You go to the root of the problem: the household. The OG, most important government of them all: the nuclear family.
We've done the abovementioned approach before, and it didn't last long term. Not since Lyndon Johnson have we ever done what I mentioned. Au contraire, we've dug in even more and threw insanity at the problem.
The sooner the citizenry gets it out of their mind that inviting more governmental police state is the answer to our societal problems, the sooner we eradicate this festering vomitous mass.
