The fakery worked so well, NASA decided to do it 5 more times. They even threw in a botched mission to make it look better.

The hoax theory might be believable to an idiot in a vacuum, but when you put the moon landing into context, even the biggest idiot the world has ever seen couldn't subscribe to it being a hoax.
Every space mission from John Glenn's orbital flight in 1962, to Ed White's spacewalk in 1965, to Frank Borman and Jim Lovell's two-week stay in earth orbit at the end of that same year, all the way up to Apollo 10's test of the lunar module in lunar orbit in May 1969, was a stepping stone to the mission that would land the first men on the moon.
Project Gemini is proof that it was real because we were learning how to do everything we would need to do on the moon from the relatively safe confines of earth orbit. And then you had all of the missions of Project Apollo that preceded Apollo 11. Apollo 7 was a test of the spacecraft in earth orbit. Apollo 8 was the first spaceflight to orbit the moon and the first test of the spacecraft in lunar orbit. Apollo 9 tested the lunar module in earth orbit. Apollo 10 tested the lunar module in lunar orbit.
It's not like JFK said, "Let's go to the moon!" in 1961 and then eight years later, Apollo 11 happened out of nowhere.

That scene gave me the biggest laugh of the whole movie. I read later that he improvised it.

Fun filled fact, the chief engineer of the 3rd stage of the Saturn V absolutely did not have an aerospace degree. Grandpa "only" had mech and industrial engineering degrees, from Montana state.

Hidden figures are hidden, or something like that.

Is it possible to have a moon landing thread without all the retards coming out of the woodwork to call it a hoax?
No, no its not.
And it's fricking embarrassing we haven't gone back since 1972. We should have in the least planned a 50th Anniversary Trip.

they really should've done it on 4/20/69. that wouldve been nice
So the members of Operation Paperclip could celebrate Hitler's 80th birthday? A bit too on the nose.

Thank you for posting it. What a momentous day!!
Can you tell me more that you remember about the day? About the experience?

We haven't been able to travel back to the Moon or even the same distance since, with much better technology. I'm undecided and don't give 2 shits about the moon.

Let me give you an evidentiary conclusion: a month ago, I made a thread about the HOAXERS, giving them a mostly respectful forum, and it made to six pages, but only a few hoaxers actually participated.
Yet every thread that promotes the achievement of Apollo is hit by 50% to 65% HOAXERS.
Conclusion, most HOAXERS crave attention and have no interest in defending their "beliefs". They are a combination cultural vandal / troll.
Qs for the Moon Landing HOAXERS - which category are you in?
