I've never seen it. They say it's a good show.

It never has.

The truth always matters and I think we probably get the truth every day, every hour. The problem is that it's (by design) mixed with all the things that doesn't matter and we fail to truly process it.

There’s some insight here but the obsessive belief that there is a superior “they” that control the minutiae of internet and media content in a giant coordinated centralized power is where it falls apart.

If these God-like controllers existed, we would eventually identify one.

I'm at the point where I trust so little of the information fed to me about the goings on in the world around me, that I'm willing to admit I don't know.

In doing so, they get to mix truth with lies. Disguise the truth as a nutty conspiracy theory. Set the tone, set the narrative. Tell the truth about one thing and then immediately distract from it using the sensational, hypersexual or ultra-violent. Yes, the Government killed a sitting US President, now look at these tits.

Yep. I believe Alex Jones and Q and their ilk are government plants. They say enough crazy stuff so the little truth they do speak can be discredited and lumped in with the other conspiracy theories.

Or is lying and deception a survival instinct? We know violence is.

I don't lie to people in my day to day life, just as I don't engage in acts of violence but if placed in a difficult situation, I will lie and deceive to survive.

Can anyone just use common sense anymore?

If it smells fishy, its probably fishy

If you don't like corporations profiting off of tic toc, don't look at tic toc

If the ingredients on a bag of chips looks like a a chemistry experiment, don't eat them

Well at least you're realizing what's been going on forever.

This hasn't been going on forever, not even close. There was a time in our recent past where information was disseminated in such a way that it could be scrutinized and those in the media for instance who lied to us would be in some way pilloried or held accountable. Careers would be destroyed.

But this is no longer the case. Now when we catch someone in the media of lying, we see it and then it's washed away in a torrent of tiktok videos and Twitter posts.

We easily forget or simply let it go.

This is a great post.

Combine everything you said with an embedded message of "there's nothing that can be done about it" and you end up with an accepting population.

Thanks and I agree.

I'm sadly open to possibilities now that just a few years ago I would've chuckled at.

What you're saying is perfectly in line with my OP.

The truth doesn't matter. All that matters is what people perceive to be the truth. That gets proven every day.

Of course, that is assuming that you're talking about the flat Earthly realm, and nothing else.

Maybe but children start lying as soon as they start talking...if it is learned behavior they are learning it in the womb....

The only option is to unplug and become who the government wishes you to not be, ungovernable.
