You travel in Florida much? My company is in Florida, east coast, but still...Florida folk are bit off...mix home school with beauty pageant and you get Florida.

You need to get out more. There are plenty of normal folks in Florida. You just have to follow my rule, never live more than 10 miles from the coast. Do that, and you'll be around normal wealthy Southern folks ( except on the east coast south of Palm Beach Cty)

I'm here now...we love to visit. But I would hate to live somewhere constantly overrun with vacationers.

Here's a comparison for you, French quarter is to New Orleans as beach homes are to 30a. There's a lot more out there.

A friend of mine retired to south Florida. No seasons and yard work 12 months a year. Things grow very fast in Florida.

I personally love living around tourists. You have all the amenities but it's only busy about 7 months a year. I love seasonal stuff, have a couple months of ghost town, but a couple months of busy season too. People love to complain about the beach traffic, but it's once a day from 3-6 and seasonal. No traffic in the mornings ever.

Again, it's like saying you'd hate living in New Orleans because of the FQ. There's a lot more out there when you are local.

Yeah I was going to say, I'm sure there is much more to do around here than the typical tourist spots and I'm sure it's awesome in the offseason. But just on the surface it seems like it would be annoying.

I don't think you're intelligent enough to gauge my sharpness. You seeing none is s good indicator of that.

Think what helps you get through the day. i guess you're "sharpness" is greater than most of the OT because most think you're pretty stupid.

30a area is amazing honestly, I live on the east end of panama city beach and I always find myself going to Pier Park and 30a, it is where all the great beer and social stuff is.

Which makes it a tougher place to retire to. No income tax is great, but if retired and living off of pension/investments, the no income tax benefit can be negated by the higher property taxes. Of course, this all depends on the taxable value of the real estate he purchases and just how much of his income will be taxable.

Kind of different living there year round vs vacationing for a couple days at a time.
