I think it’s awesome the judge legit walked back and reiterated the bail jumping. She knows that was a big arse point of contention for Brooks, so she is being very articulate on descriptions about it.
fricking Judge wants a 78-0 verdict on this one

Almost done. Then lunch and finally closing arguments around 1:30 central, most likely.
Can’t wait.

She tricked me and is still reading instructions so push that closing argument start back a while.

This is all just for him to get to the appeals process, right? He’s going to appeal every word said.

She’s going to have her work cut out for her in closing. Brooks gets an hour to talk to the jury. I suspect he is going to do/say whatever he can to try to force a mistrial, including referencing jury nullification.

He chose not to rise for the jury.

I think he's going to force her to close his opportunity for closing argument by referencing SMJ and jury nullification

He already said he intended to do so and tell the jury the truth. She told him he could not do so and she would stop him if he did. Should be interesting.

Can the prosecution object or argue/challenge anything during this time?

Both sides can object during closings if that's what you're asking.

correct. it is generally frowned upon strategically because it makes the attorneys look bad to the jury but this case is an exception. he'll force them to object

Yes. Normally, it is extreeeemely rare for either side to object and even more rare for the judge to sustain….but I have a feeling we will be setting records for both this afternoon. Brooks objecting constantly, the DA will object a lot to the nonsense and the judge will be sustaining for the DA.
Do we get a shock or a tackle this afternoon? Could happen

Can he say anything during closing that will trigger a mistrial automatically?
Or is it something that the State with have to motion for?
(I don't see them doing this no matter what is said)

Had to hit pause for a zoom meeting. Ole boys' veins are popping out of his head.

The justice system cannot be that fragile.

That's an understatement. I also think the court may stop him on her own.
