I have never seen any judge or courtroom be as patient in allowing what she has. I think they should have been even heavier handed with him than they have been up to this point

She doesn’t want to give him any valid basis for an appeal so I’m good with what she’s done. It’s not like she can hold him in contempt because it wouldn’t deter him

I will be shocked if the jury doesn't have a verdict by C.O.B. Wednesday

It's clear hes trying to get a mistrial based on procedural misconduct but has ZERO basis

She and the State are making sure they are absolutely thorough with all of it.. The state even asked that it be taken out of the jury instructions that he was moved to another court room several times for outbursts

He's lost his shite because he knows she's figured out to stop his stalling.

She needs to keep him on mute in the other room during state's closing arguments.

Yes, she has taken control and he can’t handle it. And for him it is especially egregious coming a female. I’m no Alan Alda but I have dealt with a million Darrell Brooks (history of domestic violence) and they are tough with women and very cowardly when confronted by men.

This.

There was a barber on last week, he was a muscled up hispanic dude with neck tats and stuff. He looked like someone who might have lots of close friends in prison. At no point during his question of this guy was Brooks anything less than very polite (whereas with some of the women he was damned near combative).

I watched some clips from this morning. Again, he was a piece of work. I don't know if I saw everything.

Are they on the lunch break right now?

Where are y'all watching today?

The Judge declared his defense over due to non-cooperation. They finished up jury instructions before lunch and will be back at 1 central to finish up some other stuff.

I was watching Uncivil Law this morning. I'm not sure if he'll be back this afternoon or not though.

Thought she dismissed jury for the rest of the day and they were going to start reading to them and closing arguments tomorrow

Yeah I mis-remembered... it is tomorrow

Let's assume jury instructions take all morning tomorrow and closing arguments take to like 3 or 4 PM & jury gets like an hour or 2 to deliberate tomorrow evening

I really doubt they get through closing and jury instructions in time for them to deliver a verdict tomorrow. Brooks isn't done showing his arse.

Considering the amount of charges & lesser includeds...

The paperwork alone to mark what the verdicts are will take a couple hours

My unprofessional opinion is verdict Wednesday afternoon

I want to see his face when the verdict gets rendered. I just hope it's the max the law allows.

I think when we talk about justice for Darrell it's easy to make the mistake of focusing too much on the day to day fight for justice in the courtroom while overlooking the many injustices that had to happen to get to this point. Things like housing insecurity, food deserts, and out of control healthcare costs can lead to all sorts of anxiety that exposes vulnerable people to the kinds of situations that put them in law enforcement's sights. It all stem's from greed and it's kind of hard to imagine any of this happening without the insane pressures of capitalism.

TIL Capitalism caused Darrell to drive the SUV through the parade.

He hasn't been allowed to! Whenever he tries, people like you cast his behavior as "ranting endlessly." It's unbelievable to me that you're working so hard to carry water for a fundamentally racist justice system that seeks to imprison and disenfranchise Black men.

That sub is insane. Is this real or satire?

Thanks.

I think the closings will be first and jury instructions are read right before deliberations.

Judge said there are about 60 instructions or 60 pages of instructions as I recall, so I would expect those to take a fair amount of time for her to read and I expect he will object throughout and likely have to send him off and mute him.
