Coming back at 1PM Central???
Yes.
I don't think so. They broke a bit after 11. The judge said they would go ahead and take their lunch break. I don't think she was going over an hour, but I don't recall her stating a specific time for the return. Brooks was still talking over everyone as she walked out.
I hope she comes back with a new attitude and puts him out of the courtroom and takes hold the of the proceedings.
The guy doesn't have a copy of his own witness list apparently. He didn't turn over evidence to the state during discovery and he doesn't even bring whatever it is he needs to get evidence admitted to court. He can't find documents he needs, though I was never sure what document he was claiming to be missing. He chose to represent himself and the court has helped him as much as it can as well as the state helping him secure and subpoena his witnesses. His choice to represent himself does not excuse him from following procedure. Ignorance is not an excuse. At this point, it should be too bad, so sad for him. He made a choice and he must live with it just like the choice to run down those folks in the parade. One bad choice after another.

The judge put on the record that it's apparent that Brooks' strategy is to obfuscate and delay. His shenanigans aren't fooling anyone and the judge and state have been more than thorough enough to prevent any kind of appeals.

It was the first document that he tried to show the detective and the state objected due to relevance. It supposedly said "the events of the 20th didn't happen" (that is what Brooks said outside the presence of the jury).

Oh shite... she kicked him to the other courtroom as she makes her record

How many times has 906.11 been read into the record at this point? Like 4?

Good, now keep him there.

From what I could tell it was some kind of notice of dismissal of one of the charges against him relating to the ex girlfriend.
That he then, as the judge correctly pointed out, stated through implication had been taken from his table by someone other than himself.

Judge Dorow pointing out both her & the prosecution are helping save Brooks from himself by making sure that prior acts evidence doesn't come in

Don't give him another opportunity. He's had more than enough chances.
ETA: Of course he has put his mask back on.

That has to be a first.

I'm ready for his blow up when the guilty verdicts come in... that's what we're here for now

Have to agree there. They’ve been more than deferential. She needs to move this forward and it’s clear they can’t do that reasonably with him the room.

I hope she leaves him in there for the rest of the trial rather than telling him if he agrees to behave, she will let him back in. He will say he will and then this cycle will start all over again. She needs to stay strong.
He can't answer why he believes the letter is from Patterson.

Record made... Brooks being brought back into the main courtroom

His making an offer of proof will be another train wreck. He doesn't know what that means and he will argue incessantly more irrelevant matters.

Why does he need to be in the courtroom for his offer of proof?
Posted on 10/21/22 at 12:39 pm to Gris Gris
Good. He can stay there until the verdict when he will then spend the rest of his, probably short, life in jail.
Posted on 10/21/22 at 12:39 pm to Gris Gris
Brooks doesn't want to come back.

Brooks refused to return to the main courtroom... he did all of us a favor
