I say usually naw. But sometimes salted is good.

Yes.

I salt watermelons moderately.

I'll even put a sprinkle on citrus.

Try it.

It's not all fruit, but it pairs very well with certain types.

Yes. Get some watermelon and try a very light sprinkling.

They actually sell some stuff called watermelon salt, but it's not as good as simple table salt.

I have tried multiple times and it is nasty. But salt on a lemon is good stuff.

For a Southerner that grew up without a/c salt on watermelon is as good as it gets.

So I just called my mom, and asked have you ever heard of such a thing.

And she said, yea. Lots of people do it. I am totally shocked. I asked 2 questions....

1) Where they black or white? - 'Well Im white, so they were usually whites'

2) Was /is it any good? - 'I didnt really like it. But, yea, they used to sell salted melons and the like.'

I shite you not, I am amazed. I will try it now since it is a thing.
