Jennings is in one way or another just like every single town that size in Louisiana. Unbelievably trashy, tons of culcha, STDs, bad education, litter, pit bulls, and the general disarray that is Louisiana.
Jennings, Crowley, Opelousas, Eunice, Bunkie, Tallulah, and several others are all interchangeable
This is bullshite. Crowley is actually a pretty nice town and to compare any of these to Opelousas is silly.

Yes.

How dare you criticize a town that built a brand new consolidated high school less than a mile from a prison?

Crowley has more wealthy people than Jennings and a nicer high-society life, but in general, the town of Crowley is trashier than Jennings, because some wealthy land-owner (probably related to Edwin Edwards. Either that or one of the Lebanese) put housing projects throughout the town, whereas Jennings has historically kept most of the low-income housing confined to certain areas.

Uway I can agree with that. I know South and West Crowley are supposed shite holes but I've really never been so I can't confirm. The Main Street areas, shopping, and historic district are all really nice for a small town.

Do not compare Jennings and Crowley. Crowley is much better. Crowley is not Lafayette , but has allot of good people.

That show doesn't even show the full extent of the trashiness...

You think Louisiana has a problem with corruption and coverups, watch if the truth ever sneaks out. If those rooms at the Boudreaux inn could talk...

Jennings is nice as long as you're north of the tracks. Just like alot of small towns around here once you cross the tracks it gets pretty frickin scary.

you know, I watched the whole special and was disappointed. It was basically stuff we already knew. Scratch-that.. I think we know alot more than what was on the special.

Seriously. Stout started a thread about the book. I decided to start reading it. I recommend everyone who is giving an opinion, to read the book "Murder In The Bayou", if you haven't done so already.
If you haven't read the book, you will learn a lot of information.

Hey I will say... the historical homes and the older homes by the big oak groves are beautiful.

Seems like a good way to open yourself up to defamation and not telling what else by stating this on a message board.

Yeah a lot was left out.. Like, no one brought up what went down at 610 Gallup st. With the state police raid and that Crochet boy that got killed (he was unarmed). A couple
Of those girls were in that house when that happened...

I second that. The author lives in NOLA. He’s a good guy.

He said he lives across the street from him. It will be an awkward moment when the DA sees him outside one day and goes over and says "I read your post on the OT..."

I'm watching this show now. I've never been to Jennings that I can remember but it does make it look very shitty.
