If that bear wanted to kill, eat or attack that family, it would've done so and there is likely nothing they could have done about it at that distance. They are alarmingly fast and amazingly quiet when they want to be.

"Don't turn your back to him"?
The kid already has his back to the bear. Bad translation?

The translation's correct. . .

The kid just turns and looks for a second though when his dad tells him "don't turn your back".

The Italian Brown Bear is not aggressive towards humans. He or she was being curious.

I'd be worried he's be curious about how difficult it would be to disembowel me.

Grizzly bears kill a couple people every year, it takes terrible luck or stupidity to get killed by these “aggressive as hell” creatures

Exactly what is your experience with Italian Brown Bears? The websites discussing the animal are all very consistent about its lack of aggression.

As a result, they are probably the most peaceful bear in the world. People are in the park every day, but there’s never been an attack.

I suspect that the man filming the video knew this and was acting when he pretended the bear was after his son. I'm sure they all knew the bear as fine.

had no idea there were brown bears in Italy or Europe.

Thought they were only in Russia and North America.

There are many subspecies of brown bears and dozens of small fragmented populations scattered from the Pyrenees Mountains of Spain and France to Italy all the way across Asia to the former Soviet states, Iran, Afghanistan and central China. The nominate species being the Eurasian brown bear ranges from Norway to Estonia and Romania and Greece to the Ural mountains of Russia.

There is also the Ussuri brown bear and Kamchatka brown bear of the Russian far east, and an isolated population on the Japanese island of Hokkaido.

What is odd to me is that the father is backing up and letting his son stay between him and the bear. I think I would have gotten my son behind me and then backed up as he did. The father was backing up the same speed as the son was approaching.

I didn’t understand that as well. The kid has his back turned the whole time.

Dude risked his son's life for a few facebook likes. Great parenting by him.

I'm afraid the dad would have run away if it had attacked kid.

I don't know why you think aggressive = kill. But to each his own.

Dude was filming his son's potential bear mauling.

It would have been a grizzly scene to watch if he had been mauled.
