DISCLAIMER:

It is 37mm

It's a smaller watch.

Correct.

If you have bigger wrists I'd steer clear.

My dad is pretty thin and just bought a navy one for Father's Day for him.

But is it a decent buy for that watch? Seems like it.

ETA: Only thing that concerns me is the size. I wear a 42mm now and it looks small.

41 with a large dial works as well. The bezel is quite large on that 37, which is even worse. For this style watch the largest dial to bezel ratio possible looks best to me.

Is Seiko making a lot of their movements in Malaysia?

I'm pretty sure K models are made in Malaysia and J models are made in Japan so I guess the answer would be yes

This was my first watch. Bought it a couple of years ago and loved it. Moved up to an Orient Ray.

That's a good deal, picked up a green strap one for about $60 a few years ago. For those whining about the size, it actually works in favor of these watches. Comfortable for a beater automatic and unobtrusive. Also means the movement and case are closer fit which eliminates the need for a plastic ring to fill up empty space. There are the larger 7S36-powered versions too. Either watch is durable enough for yard and construction work and keep excellent time.

Do you still wear it?

Can you comment on the size?

I wear a 36 right now. I had a 42 before and it was like wearing a grandfather clock. I hate the big watch trend.

It was my first watch and I knew it was a little small going in but I had no complaints about the size. It fit my wrist fine. It's a great starter watch.
