I agree with lsunurse on this one, half you motherfrickers would not last 1 shift in a trauma ER but are quick to talk shite about it.

Yeah I just looked and you are correct...most of his posts are from the Poli board.

No one as intelligent as an MD is gonna spend a considerable amount of time on the poli board.

You must be a male nurse, sorry you're infected with the ghey.

I hear this from all of you. Not an honest CRNA in the whole lot.

work independently in a rural hospital with no anesthesiologist

Doubtful, but maybe leprechauns are real.

Plus, she didn’t say you play cards all day, just a “considerable” amount of your day.

Also, IMO the failure here is the generalization, not the premise statement itself.

Just because ER nurses go through hell doesn’t mean the workers in an inpatient unit are as well.

The stereotypes and the meme exists for a reason.

Most male nurses I know are straight fwiw. And ended up marrying a nurse.

Male nurse I went to nursing school with banged some of our classmates. Smart guy...go to nursing school as a single attractive guy...frick all the cute nurses you want cause you are constantly surrounded by them.

And then at work...there is always a fresh crop of them to pick from.

Uh yea we get it all the time, especially on the local level. Most of us just don’t care.

Oh i agree, I have nothing bad to say about Intensive care areas but when you are balls to the walls with your local gang fight and have multiple GSWs rolling in or multi fatality MVAs, dropping chest tubes, intubating 3-4 diff pts at the same time...its a different ball game. I do respect anyone who deals with critically ill children. Takes a special breed. I could not do it.

So lsunurse...

Would you recommend nursing to kids graduating high school? (I've got two who will soon enough).

What is the current pay (with overtime)?

TIA

After 2 decades in construction , I chose to get a degree in nursing. Ask any nurse and they’ll tell you it’s the easiest degree next to basket weaving you can get . I’ve worked in critical care for over 20 years mostly 4-5 12 hr shifts , on call 1 sometimes 2 days a week. But it’s all good. I just empty bedpans and hang out with hotties like LSUnurse playing cards . When y’all are ventilated with a balloon pump, CVVH, and ECMO keeping alive . Hopefully the nurse isn’t exhausted cause they did 2-3 12 hr shifts back to back shifts .
