No. Nurses spend most of their time charting because of lawyers.

I know I'm not an MD. But when you have idiots like the ones in here saying that nurses only do what the doctors tell them to...well that proves the point that nurses still aren't getting the basic respect they deserve for what they do contribute.

But doing "what the doctor tells them to do" is the absolute essence and overwhelmingly primary role of being a nurse. The entire profession is absolutely predicated on doing what a doctor tells them to do.

I've been a nurse for over twenty years. The primary function of a nurse is to simply do what he or she is told to do. BY A DOCTOR.

It's not a bad thing but it is the essence and largely sole purpose of the job.

You need to go spend a day in a busy Surgery department.

PACU and same day settings are among the easiest clinical settings to work in a hospital.

Most likely a 2nd or 3rd year resident running as much as he shits about. Has probably been bailed out a few times by a CRNA or Circulator or Scrub Tech. Most shitty residents have blinders on bc they are getting fricked in the arse by upper levels running to death & yelling at them for their inferior decision making skills.
No worries Machine, we laugh and talk shite about your kind more than we play cards.

Wait, DeusVultMachina is a non-physician hospital employee talking the shite he/she is spewing. You can’t make that up.

Holy shite, an honest nurse. You might want to duck. Your catty RN colleagues will be along any minute now to bitch you out and tell you you have Stockholm Syndrome or something.
