CNN & WAPO...

Who's up next to put the icing on top of this kid's life cake?

Good for him. I would say maybe these organizations will think twice about demonizing a kid next time, but most of us know they won't. They'll do it anyway and end up writing off a few million dollars to make him or her go away. I personally know people who still think this kid was in the wrong and instigated the whole thing to this day.

ETA: well I guess here's my answer

6 more to go (ABC, CBS, NBC, USA Today, NYT, and Rolling Stone)

I hope he gets 8 figures from every last one and dedicates the rest of his life to exposing the hypocrisy of every single one with all the money that paid him.

Washington Post has now joined CNN in settling a lawsuit filed against them by Covington High School student Nick Sandmann

Details of the settlements are not public

Sandmann has also sued ABC News, CBS News, the New York Times, Gannett, & Rolling Stone

Those remain outstanding

I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it but that much money at that age... he's gonna blow through it all and be bankrupt by 30. I hope he has some very good advisors in his life to help him do the right thing with it. Invest wisely and live like he only has $1m.

If it were me no way I’d live to 30 if I had that money at 18. I’d die of alcohol/drug overdose or some type of STD

I'd happily take that for $100-300 million in settlements

I doubt that is how much he got. The amount is noticeably absent from the articles.

All rumors indicate it was at least 8 figures. 10%/25 million is likely what he's getting.

The media essentially ruined (or attempted to ruin) his life over a complete and utter lie that they KNEW was a lie.

I'm a little fuzzy on the specific details of this. Obviously I know they wrote an article saying he was taunting a NA, with a picture that you could easily believe that he was taunting him, which turned out to be not true. That much I get. And then it came out that he actually wasn't taunting him. My questions are, what was actually happening in the picture? And how was it proven that the papers actually KNEW he wasn't taunting him and decided to lie?

His grinned happened, but Philips approached him when he could have easily avoided him. Sandman was just standing there not knowing what to do.

There was a full length video that was released. The media ignored it and continued to make Sandman out to be some racist that was mocking Philips because "muh MAGA hat".

There's several celebrities he needs to sue as well.

The kids were standing around waiting for their bus/ride for the next stop on their tour, I believe. Then the natives were there protesting some other group that was also protesting in the area when the Indian guy came up banging his drum in the kid's face.

Complete video. The news outlets had the entire video and Cherry picked the one part and put no context to it. Also, it is the job of any reputable journalist or journalism organization to verify and source any story they publish. If they don't have all the facts and cant verify claims, they aren't supposed to run the story.

NDA, non-disclosure agreements. The settlement can't be revealed.

Interesting. I remember multiple threads on this where people said he would get little, if anything, from these settlements.

Gotta imagine Lester Earl is in that number

I don't agree that he deserves it (he deserves some, for sure), but they deserve to have to pay it.

The news agencies had the whole video which clearly showed that he was not the instigator and selectively edited it to make it appear that he was.
