They cant legally require you to attend a social event.

However not a bad decision to go.


On another note i atopped doing social things with my employees and coworkers years ago... ppl just want to bitch about work. frick that.

Say you have a prior engagement and if they ask what it is say it's personal. By law you do not have to give a reason.

Is this a long term job? Do you want to climb any rungs?

I would just go and make the best of it. If attendance is mandatory then that cute little girl that runs the register and cleans the shake machine may be able to be had easily, once she has a few drinks.

It will be awesome.

Just invite your boys to the same place and "accidentally" bump into them. Then just fade away from the bosses party to your own. Check in a few times so your face gets seen and you'll be good.
