Was told this at the end of the day at work

We are required to attend the boss's birthday at a local establishment according to the administrative assistant. Why are required to do this? Why do we need to kick the boss rear end and no she not cute and I am not posting a picture of her

Yeah, you can't require people to go somewhere after work to celebrate a boss's birthday, especially at the last minute.
This is probably the situation. The admin assistant is the one who put it all together and she didn't want to make it look like she just threw it together that day so she is telling people it is required to go.. Because she will be the one getting the credit for putting it together and it would look bad if no one showed up.

Sounds like your boss doesn't have any friends. Requiring people to hang out with her sounds like something Owlfan would do.
