West Viriginia is a beautiful state. Very underrated. It's just hard to overcome losing much of your main industry.

My wife lived in a little coal mining town in Alabama in HS. It's suffered sort of the same fate. The mine closed and it's basically a dead little town now.

I'd love to do a road trip through those small coal towns. They're a dump but not violent.

In addition to loss of coal mining, for decades Robert Byrd funneled excessive sums of federal money to WV that artificially propped up their economy so they never bothered to diversify.

I used to travel to a small town called Ripley in WV for work occasionally. There really wasn't much to do after I was off so I'd just drive around and check out the scenery.

No wonder so many of y’all are happily voting to live under Fascist control. There is less chaos….as long as your thoughts and actions jive with the accepted ones. It is funny how many on here claim to be libertarian when y’all all just want to control others as much as possible.

Strangely its not as violent as the inner city. I wonder why.

I’d imagine a rural less densely populated state have less crime than concentrated poverty. Correct Mr. racist.

In statistics, an outlier is a data point that differs significantly from other observations.[1][2] An outlier may be due to a variability in the measurement, an indication of novel data, or it may be the result of experimental error; the latter are sometimes excluded from the data set.[3][4] An outlier can be an indication of exciting possibility, but can also cause serious problems in statistical analyses. Do a plot county-by-county of %black vs. any economic measure.

Why do you think this?

Facts aren't racist. Black people have significantly higher violent crime rates than other races. Like 7 times higher. The reason a city like Boise is safe is mostly due to demographics.

Except white people aren't nearly approaching the crime rates of the inner city.

While living in the same, dense city.

Facts are not racist. You just don't like the conclusions.

Now do it by rate. Like I said in my post.

It's not just big cities either. There are plenty of small towns in LA that are very violent.

the South used to have some awesome small towns but the criminal element has outbred decent folks.

Small, agricultural towns in the great plains are better. Demographic matter, a lot.

To be blunt, one of my biggest fears for the future of the USA is that blacks generally suck at running things and will take more and more government positions as minority populations increase.

You are incredibly stupid.

I don’t think so. Predominantly black areas are usually among the poorest and least developed on Earth.

Pick just about any small LA town along Hwy 90 if you want to get a glimpse into the degradation of small town Louisiana. Poor and drug infested misery.

I was thinking of towns like Opelousas or Bogalusa. There's plenty of violent crime in some small towns too. There's more to it than just population density.
