Was New York City as bad pre COVID?

Visiting New York for this first time in about two years and am pretty shocked at the current state of the city. It makes Bourbon street seem clean. There’s trash, bums, human shite everywhere and just walked past two junkies shooting up half a block off Times Square at 9 am. A huge portion of the businesses (restaurants, hotels, bars) are boarded up and closed down. I typically come during Christmas so maybe that is when the city actually cleans up but damn. Anyone on the board live here that can comment? Do y’all just avoid the downtown area as much as possible?
Also, I think 90% of the people are wearing masks while outdoors. I’m still trying to figure out if they’re doing this to virtue signal or if they just think it’s that disgusting out there that they want to filter out the air.

How about this question. Who has the worst mayor? NYC or NO?

Philthydelphia is like that. Cray Cray C-Ray said if you visit Philly you would appreciate how clean New Orleans is.

NYC will see a return to the 70's.

I lived in NYC during the 2000s. I was just a few blocks from Times Square.
It wasn’t like that at all.

It was getting bad before COVID because of de blasio, but accelerated after COVID and the summer of st. George.

I went in 2018 and it was pretty clean and even more impressively they had a NYPD officer on almost every block. Contrary to your current experience I thought it made NOLA look horrible. I’m sure covid has contributed largely to the current state of NY. NOLA would be a shite hole even if covid didn’t happen.

Good point. I just assumed that coming for 3 nights during Christmas Time was not a representative example of the city year round.

Well I mean Giuliani cleaned it up but now the FBI and Dem machine are trying to put him in prison as the openly Marxist mayor destroys the city.
I mean you're fricking retarded if you dont think an openly Marxist politician will not destroy everything

Deblasio is to blame for much of that.

Lol and three people on this board dont think De Blasio is destroying NYC. The only solution for this nation is to break up.
Posted on 5/22/21 at 9:23 am to TitleistProV1X
It is so bad, there is a push to break NY state up into autonomous regions and the governor will be a figure head.

What time would you like them to wait for their first shot of the day?

No, NYC was pretty good for years. Giuliani did a fantastic job cleaning it up. The city had been sliding backwards under DeBlasio but the COVID shite kicked it into high gear. It won't be long before it's a filthy, dangerous 1970s-ish crime-infested shithole again.
