He was resisting. Taser was the best option at that point.

Cops knowing beforehand that he had a gun and addressed him in that manner I think was badly played. It resulted in multiple people dying and a lot of hate being expressed. Was sterling a dirtbag? Based on the facts yes. Should he have complied? Absolutely. Could this have been avoided? Probably. I’ve watched the videos multiple times. Knowing he had a gun, they should’ve pulled their guns immediately, get him on his knees hands behind his head etc. The way the cops approached him knowing he had a gun put their lives in danger and I can’t imagine it a recommended way to approach someone who you know has a gun. Would he have complied in the situation I described? Maybe.

Johnny bad arse cop rolls up on a big, bad dude. Big dude does not comply, but is not attacking officers. Officer tackles big dude and when big dudes gun comes into play officer shoots big dude.
Was shooting justified? Yes, I believe officers had justification to believe their life was in danger.
Could officer have handled it differently? I believe so. He started threatening Sterling well before it was needed.
I am glad I will not face this officer on the street.

OK, what if? What if he'd gotten to his gun first? One or two dead cops maybe?
He was drugged up. He did not comply. He resisted. He got shot. His bad, not the cops.
All these clowns wanting to be poster children for the "movement" ending up dead tells me they need to rethink their methods.
Screw him, he like several of late, brought this on themselves.

All you people opining on police tactics, including the “experts” that DOJ hired, crack me up. The parking lot was full of people. Hell, there was a woman standing NEXT to Sterling when the police arrived. So the officers were supposed to get behind their cars and draw down on Sterling putting all of those folks in the cross fire of a potential gun battle? If they had done that then the same folks would be bemoaning their poor tactics after the bystanders got killed. Getting in contact distance with Sterling was dangerous but it was their only option and they did their job. The overt aggression was required to try and gain immediate compliance. Only someone high as a kite and bent on resistance wouldn’t have complied in that situation. Sterling was that guy. Not sure why people continue to say that he would have magically surrendered if the officers would have been nicer or less aggressive. If he wasn’t going to comply with a gun to his head then why would he comply to a less persuasive method?

Your rebuttal was brilliant.

Jesus. You are dense. I laid out a position and supported it with an explanation. Your response was “LoL. No.” I commented on your ridiculous response with a similar short response and now I am the one not making a valid position?
