over 2 billion were set to the side to aid veterans and their families. Not sure if any has been paid, or how it would be done.

P.S Michael Hayes & Aikman? If that's the two.....they were with my platoon(heavy machine guns). We've kept up over the years...two great guys.

Those are the guys! They've both become considerably more civilized over the years, but are still wild men at heart.

We got together 2 years ago at the Pelican House right after Christmas. One of our DS brothers had been battling cancer. We had a great night catching up and reliving some old "war" stories that never get old, our buddy passed away less than a month later(44 years young). We had about 16-17 guys show up...not bad for a platoon of 30 guys.

I might have seen a pic of that get together on Mike's FB page on Veterans Day. I see him occasionally when the Saints are playing in Atlanta and once or twice at LSU games. I think he's doing pretty well professionally and he has a beautiful family. He's a great guy and knows how to have fun.

When I lived in southern CA, I got us tickets to a USC game through some customers of mine. They were hardcore SC fans, the father had played football for them and a couple of the sons had gone there for college. I told Mike, explicitly, you can cut up and have a good time, but remember that I do business with these people, so don't go full retard. Well, we started tailgating LSU style early in the morning and Mike was acting like the Court Jester. He had an LSU shirt on and these fake "Bubba" teeth in. He's running up to every girl, and in this fake accent, announcing how pretty they were and could he have a hug. This shite went on all morning, and everyone kept egging him on, so he kept doing it.

We ended up getting stupid drunk and pretty much went full retard. For his sake, I won't go into the details of what transpired over the ensuing twelve or fifteen hours.

About 3:00am we go to park the RV in front of my customer's mother's house. We go inside to piss, and his mom, who was probably about in her early 50s and was a very attractive woman, comes out to greet us in a pair of sweats and a t-shirt. She knows everyone but Mike, so we introduce him. Judy isn't out of the living room yet when Mike turns to my customer and says, in his Foghorn Leghorn voice, "DAMN, Rex! You sure got a good lookin' mama!"

Fortunately, Judy was flattered and the sons had had too much fun with Mike that day to be pissed off at him.

Sounds like Mike...we called him "Big Crazy". I remember them telling a story of a Mardi Gras Krewe they formed in college with some of their frat buddies. Said they rode around at some parade wearing "banana hammocks"....called themselves the Krewe of Wenis Bikinis(pronounced bikiness). They definitely still know how to have a good time.

Everyone misses it. I wish I would have stayed in.

PS. If any of you son of a bitches are having weird health maladies, read up on the burn pit syndrome.

It's legit and if left untreated, it's killing vets.
