Biden just saw this and is immediately asking if we can give both countries $15 billion each. Because why not?!

A client has mining concessions in Guyana. He finally received funding to begin.

I have a refinery I quoted to relocate to Guyana recently.

Armed gangs from Venezuela have been invading for western bauxite mines in Guyana for a decade now. These mines product chemical grade alumina laden bauxite which commands a higher dollar.

How will they invade? There’s no road across dense rainforest

Guyana doesn’t really have a military and no fighter planes. Venezuela can transport off the coast and then land at the airports

Saw a video saying this is all saber ratting by Venezuela to pump up Maduro and the consensus is that they won’t actually go through with it, but people probably said the same thing about Russia and Ukraine.

Yea, I’m in the boat that they will “claim” the region and even call it a State and update their maps, but not actually do anything about it.

Brazil moved some military to its northern border, Exxon and many many countries have told Maduro not to act on anything.

I know they’re pissed about the oil finds off the coast, but the sanctions we put on Venezuela oil have now been lifted (even without Machado being allowed to run for office).

I think Brazil will be the moderator and Guyana will give some concessions on offshore oil and remain in territorial control of the region. I also think Venezuela will claim the region but not send troops

Guyana and Louisiana are so damn similar in every aspect of their Governance. This would be like Texas invading Louisiana and taking over.

On December 3, 2023, Venezuelans will go to the polls to authorize Nicolás Maduro’s government to invade neighboring Guyana. If the crisis seems to arise from the blue, it is only because Washington has not paid attention.

Maduro is signing his own death warrant. The powers at be have been waiting 20 years for a reason to depose him/Chavez and they're just voting it in (or pretending to)

It'll probably amount to nothing as someone said above, but I feel like this one has a way higher chance of involving the US than Ukraine or Israel should Venezuela actually invade.

America should not be involved in any of these but to me this one makes way more sense than the other two…
