Let’s assume Disney can build the monorail for the same price as São Paulo – $50 million per mile. The proposed track runs about three miles, so that means this monorail expansion would cost $150 million.
I'd imagine a lot of those costs have to deal with buying the property. Disney already owns the property. I have a hard time believing it would cost $50 million to build a mile of elevated concrete structure (even including the additional facilities needed)
However, Disney hasn't done it, and has one of the most well run bus systems, so it has to be cost prohibitive to them.
I'd imagine its much easier to scale the number of buses needed, say when closing a park for the night, vs trying to run more monorail coaches.

I see Slidell from there.

The buses take the magic our of it though.
About 8 resorts don't need buses to get to MK or EPCOT.

No, they are next to each other though.
No, where Ariel's Grotto and 20,000 Leagues where is not the location of the 7 Dwarves Mine Train coaster. The new Little Mermaid ride and meet and great are former backstage areas.

There were supposed to be more hotels around the Bay lake, I know Persian one for sure, and I forgot the other one.
The Persian resort was actually going to be north of the Contemporary...almost behind the MK. Where the Grand Floridian is today, there was going to be an Asian resort. The Poly was going to look completely different. And between the Poly and Contemporary was planned a Venetian resort.

Looks like we're making a trip in Jan with our 2 girls. Great time of year to go.

January might be my favorite time to be there.

Are the Polynesian Bungalows up yet?
Price per night should will probably be insane.

Adding to the DVC portfolio.... and 20 waterside bungalows. The two bedroom bungalows sleep up to 8 guests and offer a slice of paradise with views of the Seven Seas Lagoon and the Magic Kingdom unlike any other experience on the entire Disney resort.

We will be there with you as well as about half of Louisiana. We are actually going to stay off property this time. I was able to find a four bedroom home for $1000 for 10 nights. I'm certain we will miss the bus system but we could not pass up the savings as well as the additional room.

Price per point is around $160. It's rediculous. And the amount of points needed to stay a weekend (during the cheapest part of the year) equals out to well over a grand. :lol

The worst of all... Mr. Toad's Wild Ride with Winnie the Pooh.

Winnie the Pooh is a good ride on its own....but it's no Mr. Toad :rip:

If only Walt had lived for another 20 or so years, that place would be twice what it is today.
