My neighborhood is still soaking wet from the last 6 weeks of rain. We did manage to take the kids and dog out for a walk and my 3 and 4 year old had their explorer kits trying to catch bugs. No other kids were out. We didn’t see a single bug either which I thought was wierd.

There were a lot of people outside today playing. Too nice not to.

Sunshine days with 50-60F temps can't be ignored.

We had a man from Africa visit our church several months ago. Asked what was the most unusual thing about America, he said the lack of people outside, especially at homes.

Of course, you really can't compare Africa and the USA, but it did make me realize he (and you) are correct. Kids don't play outside that much anymore. I try to get my grandkids out doors when they are here. Alot going on out there they are not aware of.

Y’all must live in some neighborhoods with a lot of old people, because my neighborhood had kids all up and down the streets all day. As usual, too.

My neighborhood almost always has kids outside. We seriously have nearly 40 little girls the same age, when the weather is good they are all down in the cul de sac. Don't see my oldest for hours most days.

But Christmas day? Empty. Why? Most are on the road visiting local family after opening gifts. Or a few are out of town. It may pick up once the parents are sick of the kids being inside all day for winter break.

You joke, but after charging that thing for 2 days the battery only lasted about 5 hours. It could be that I let him (he’s two) use it on high the whole time and it drained the battery quicker though

Not to sound insensitive, but would you want to sit inside the type of house most people of Africa live in?

Insensitive? You’re being honest. Africa is a shithole. They live in shitty deellings with no AC. We have climate controlled homes with electricity. Of course we’re inside more. It’s a stupid comparison. Give that dude one month in the AC and his arse will stay inside too.

Yeah, he wasn't comparing apple to apple there. He was from a very poor tribe that lived in grass huts. I guess thats a step down from our air conditioned houses.
