Festus they assaulted him! That is not security guard behavior. That is thug behavior.
In the video they did not identify themselves until after they had begun beating on him. And even then it's hard to hear.

You're making me out to be something I'm not.
I just don't believe in the inherent good of large entities be they government or corporations.

Quick story about me being apprehended in a parking lot. When I was 15 years old I was shopping with my friends in Philadelphia Franklin Mills Mall. This mall is huge probably stretching ¾ mile long. Well when it was time to leave me and two of my friends raced to the car to try and get shotgun. So instead of running through the mall we exited and sprinted through the parking lot to the vehicle. Naturally we got there about 10 minutes before the driver so we just milled around the car waiting. One of my friends walked a few cars over and pissed in between the cars.
Friend arrives and we jump in the car, as he's backing out we get surrounded by security blocking us in. There was police backup as well. They ordered us out of the car and separated us and started questioning us. The security guard had assumed we were stealing cars and the car we were in was stolen. They looked pretty stupid when we produced license registration etc. Security guards are working there because they couldn't even be police officers.

Thug behavior is stabbing the security guards.

I don't know what happened before the video started rolling, but it's a fact that they identified themselves before he stabbed them. If you don't recognize that after watching it 3 times, I don't know what to tell you.

That's not my intent at all. Just telling you what I see from your posts. I believe you're giving the guy a pass, and excusing his behavior, because you have an inherent distrust for authority.

The question posed, and specifically to your comment, is that theft does not have any effect on hard working people that pay for it. That's a specific claim you made.

Not sure if the pussy reference is directed at me personally, but I can assure you, I do P90X and push-ups daily, and am quite masculine.
No, will not post pics.

Because I think he should have been taken through the legal channels and not beat up by some Canuck LP thugs with a hard on for overzealous application of their brand of "justice"?

No, it wasn't. I was talking about Walmart.
And no, if there was no theft tomorrow, their prices wouldn't change. Maybe they'd need less LP people, and lay them off. I have a friend who is a manager for a smaller chain and when I asked him if no theft would mean they would lower their prices or raise wages he just laughed at me.

No, because you condone stabbing security guards.

No, you are completely wrong.

You got me. You figured it out.
It was me the whole time.
I, Snidely Whiplash, was secretly hoping for that evildoer to break out a chainsaw and disembowel those two kind hearted and reasonable angels of the community. It infuriated me so, that when his broadsword of malevolence failed to cleft our heroes in twain that I was driven into a maddened rage, and I went around town, flipping off firemen, telling rude jokes about postmen, and farting near police officers.
You've found me out. Curses!!!
Foiled again.
I'll get you next time Festus...NEXT TIME!!!

Most people can.

You know, I've directed my posts at you because I know I can be honest and speak my mind, and you know me and I don't sugar coat.
The courts can listen to both sides and decide if the security guards overstepped their authority. My point is, none of that justifies the guy pulling out a boxcutter and stabbing them. In my opinion. We can disagree on that, all I'm saying. That, and in my business and dealings, I can only say that corporations build theft losses into their loss margins, and price accordingly.
Now that we've got that behind us, let's talk about women, and the sanctity of marriage.

I don't doubt this for a minute. And I'd be willing to bet you'd do the same even if you recognized they were security
Nice leap there for someone you dont know. You got me though, I'm a POS thief that stabs people, and assaults clearly identified security or police officers. Geez Festus you know me oh so well...

That's clearly false. Not sure if you're lying, or simply didn't watch the video. They clearly identify themselves as Loss Prevention before the stabbing
From what I saw in the video, when it starts up they have the guy in a chokehold and the man in black is punching him in the head, before "loss prevention" comes out of the guys mouth (which is @ 14 seconds) and the alleged thief is already going for his weapon. Should he have stopped at this point? Well sure, but anyone could say they are with loss prevention, and the initial actions (choking and punching) are not consistent with what someone in a loss prevention position would do in that situation.
Maybe you need to go ahead and watch the video again, and honestly tell me that you would not react to two people trying to choke you out and punching you in a parking lot. If you wouldnt then you are the kinda people that are wrong with society it sounds like.
