Festus, if you had a daughter who was driving down a dark road and saw flashing lights behind her, what would you tell her to do?

FWIW Festus, I completely agree with you here, even though you have taken to basically sayinh I am the same as the stabber. If I were in a store however and saw someone stealing, I am going to video it, alert security, and call the police. I am not however going to physically assault the person stealing.

Also from the video, we know nothing abouy whether the guy stole something or not. Is it possible that he simply was acting suspiciously or was misidentified? Absolutely. I'm just saying that the initial action that we see in the video from "security" is not an acceptable response. If they were identifying themselves before the video started, then that is a different situation. I'm only speaking on what was clearly evidenced in the video posted

Find a well lit area to pull over, when they come up to your window, roll it down, then stab for the heart, and hope they're not cops.

I'm fricking with you man.

All I'm saying is that in the U.S., store security guards do have the right to detain shoplifters for a reasonable amount of time. I can see an argument being made that the security guards did not follow protocol, and were too eager in going hands on. That's gonna be up to testimony from all, including witnesses, and a judge or jury to decide.

But from viewing the video, it's clear to me that they identified themselves, and the perp stabbing them was not justified. Period.

Whew...I thought I was going crazy or missing part of the video!

Okay then. Different opinions, but thats straight. I think the whole situation could have been avoided if they would have acted per protocol, and just think he will have a good defense saying he was acting in self defense bc of the initial assault

She's stabbing them with the combat bayonet affixed to the end of her assault rifle, right?

I was serious about them identifying themselves, though, before he stabbed. You can hear them screaming "Loss Prevention" before he pulled box cutter and stabbed.

And I do still believe that it all could have been avoided if the perp would have complied from the get go.

I assume that the defense for the security guards will argue that, and attorneys for the perp will argue what you said.

But in no way do I excuse the guy stabbing from all culpability.

So if two men start assaulting a person without identifying themselves (Which on my sixth viewing of the video I'm almost certain they didn't. Otherwise why would they "identify" by saying "loss prevention" only twice after their unwarranted assault began?) then say something that still doesn't identity them clearly as peace officers, and they have no markings or ID or anything, and they have acted in a manner completely inconsistent with any security protocol...you just surrender and let them beat you?

Since most of this is made up mumbo jumbo in your mind fueled by a hatred for authority, no need to respond, other than to say good luck to you and your kids in stabbing cops and security guards.

"Loss prevention, stop resisting"
TPOS thief BITES security guard
Security guard hits TPOS thief in response to being bitten.
TPOS thief then STABS security guard.

That's what happened. I don't understand why you can't let this go.

Finally, a voice of reason.

Sampson, I bet you don't shoplift either, and don't expect society to pay your way.

I don't shoplift often, but when I do I don't start biting and stabbing people when I get caught.

What? Dude clearly gets hit in the face and then gets accused of biting.

They ASSAULT HIM BEFORE IDENTIFYING THEMSELVES!

How do you think that is justified?
