So you're cool with paying 3.5x the original price for a bottle of wine but you can't tip your server a few bucks for providing service?
Not to mention he can't tell the difference between a 40 dollar bottle and a 100 dollar bottle anyway
And that's not a personal slight. Pretty much no one can

Perhaps
But buying a 100 dollar bottle of wine knowing it's severely marked up seems like a bigger financial blunder than leaving a respectable tip

sonic needs to add a tip line on their receipts for the car hops. i'd love to tip them (especially the ones they force to wear skates) but that option isn't available for those of us who don't carry cash.

now it is a different story if older vintage and/or hard to find
i typically spend that kind of coin on bourbon, though. I don't know wine well enough to be that snooty about it.

McDonalds, Burger king etc, prepares, bags and then hands you what you ordered. Is it appropriate to tip them too?

If you ever find yourself in a place called Owensboro, KY for some odd reason go to a place called the Miller House and check out the Bourbon Bar.
You'd love it if high end Bourbon is your thing.

if they brought the food all the way out to my car then i'd give them a buck or two.

How many times did she refill their drinks? Remove appetizers? Bring bread? Bring condiments? Replace silverware?
This is pretty much my thought process here. It's getting to be where every place I order from puts a "tip" line on the receipt. Almost like they're begging for it.
In my rationale, if they aren't bringing and refilling my drink, then they are not doing a "service". What this lady describes is doing her JOB. That's what they are paying her for. When I tip, it is based on the degree of service provided. Waitresses are doing their jobs, too, but when they do it well and with personal service, that's when it deserves a tip.

[img]Probably since she’ll file for unemployment and collect while she sits at home and watches Maury
[/img]
If she files for unemployment her previous employer will be informed and if she was terminated the employer can elect to reveal that and deny her benefits. They may or may not deny them as the employer will not get a credit for money paid into her unemployment compensation but they do have that right.
The employee if she feels she was unjustly terminated can appeal but normally it is upheld. Her best bet is to go find another job and shut her mouth.

No. It is not traditional, or expected. Enjoy that Mcrib baw.

I bet she has already. On a side note, she was a smoke show a few years back. It looks like when she had the baby she put on extra weight, then continued to pack it on.
She is closing in on 280 lady status.

Nope. Old FB pics.

Yeah, none of this is true. If she was fired, she she is eligible for unemployment in almost every state, including Florida. The only way she could be denied is if she had been fired for serious misconduct.
In the real world, a termination for a social media post is likely never going to be accepted as grounds for not receiving unemployment.

Sonic used to let you tip on a credit card but it was only when the carhops brought your card inside and entered the tip that you wrote. They no longer do that since the machine is on the menu thing. I agree they should add it. I don’t go to sonic if I don’t have a dollar to tip.
As for this thread, the girl was stupid to go to social media. I never agree with people doing that. That being said, I always tip on to-go orders. I assure you no one cares if you don’t though. Not for reasonable orders. You only get tipped by ~40-50% of takeout customers.
We used to leave a couple receipts with tips filled out out on the bartop because people will do whatever they see someone else do.

This thread is still going on? People...tip 10% on a to go order. Services are still being rendered. Don't go to social media with the bs. This isn't hard.

It didn't get out to the car on its on.
Waitress is a bit heavy and somewhat unfortunate looking... why is the thread still going?

$50 would be reasonable on a $730, 50 plate order. A buck a plate, if that's too much then they should just make church chicken spaghetti and not eat out.
