Eagle rare isn’t over priced though. It’s still like $35 retail for a 10 year bourbon when you can find it

If no one is complaining, then they believe their free bourbon drink is top shelf for instagramming and he saves a few bucks.

Win/win.

Do you think that is why I stood in line yesterday?

I stood in line to get a couple of bottles that are extremely hard to find on a shelf for a great price.

I agree with SquatchDawg. $30 bottle of Elijah Craig suites me just fine.

Seriously?

This reminded me of the wedding at Cana in Galilee.
quote:

On the third day there was a wedding at Cana in Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there.
Jesus also was invited to the wedding with his disciples.
When the wine ran out, the mother of Jesus said to him, “They have no wine.” And Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does this have to do with me? My hour has not yet come.”
His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.”

Now there were six stone water jars there for the Jewish rites of purification, each holding twenty or thirty gallons.

Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. And he said to them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the feast.” So they took it.

When the master of the feast tasted the water now become wine, and did not know where it came from (though the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom and said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when people have drunk freely, then the poor wine. But you have kept the good wine until now.”

This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory. And his disciples believed in him.

Sucks Herr. Once people found out about it I haven't been able to get a hold of a bottle. One place keeps it hidden out back and they only take it out on some Wednesdays.

If you have ever worked in Kentucky, you will know that there is an entire subculture of extremely wealthy and snobby bourbon aficionados. That shite is legitimately a currency.

I was in Knoxville Tennessee for work several months ago, and went to dinner with a guy who is all about bourbon and whiskey. He gets together with a circle of friends, and they buy barrels of that shite. Yes, the entire cask. I sat there and listened intently for two hours, while he talked about all sorts of variations of bourbon, based on the temperature inside where they age it, the weather outside, how high the cask is stacked in a certain warehouse, all sorts of amazing shite that determines how much it’s worth. it was truly amazing

Every year for his kids birthday instead of putting money into a savings account, he buys a special cask of bourbon. It is literally like buying a bar of gold to those people.
