Nope. I don't know or care about any of these people. I was just commenting on the unlikelihood that the reporter asked the question the way it was quoted.
People do it all the time. They will write that a policeman said, "He was going to beat my arse." Really? Those were the words that came out of his mouth?
If you want to be believed, make an accurate quote. Or don't use quotation marks if you are paraphrasing.
