WBRZ actually reports news...WAFB just speculates on shite and see what sticks.

I watch WAFB for weather segments. Big fan of Jay Grymes.
WBRZ for on air talent.

WAFB is full to the brim with goobers. But the intelligent few make it almost tolerable. Merrywether is dull-witted and convinced he's not. Matt Williams is seriously the most irritating TV broadcaster this town has EVER had. Donna Britt appeals to dowdy old women like herself.

Upsides: The weather guys, Cheryl Mercedes and Andre Moreau. Jacques seems like a good dude.

They focus too much on community crap (charities, human interest, cooking, local inanities, etc.) and not enough on actual news.

WBRZ is a little better. Not by much.

Matt Williams

Seems like a good guy but is cheesy as hell. If he settled down with the goofy remarks and head tilts when others are talking, he'd be bearable.

How do you leave Lauren Westbrook off this list? Forget the attractiveness. She comes off as very poised. The morning show would be awful without her because of Matt.

the last five minutes of the 430-7 WAFB morning show is comedy gold. It seems like each of them is trying to outdo the other one acting like maniacs.

I prefer WBRZ for most everything but high school sports highlights. WAFB Sportsline Friday Night is a great recap show.

WAFB is for blacks and poors.

It's actually the opposite. WBRZ is big in the black community because of their location in the Bottom.

You forgot Alexa Vogue on WBRZ too. She's the best out of all of them.

I called my grandmother and asked her opinion. She said WBRZ, so that's what I'll watch.

Thanks anyway for all of y'all's input.

Has WBRZ won a daypart in the ratings against WAFB in the last 25 years?

Just curious. I have no idea what the ratings are now.

I pick WAFB over WBRZ because I've known lots of people who have worked for both shops over the years. WAFB has better people, from the production peeps to the anchors.

Neither station does news that's worth a flip, honestly. Few in broadcasting do, anymore. With that being equal, I go with the station with less douches. WBRZ is getting better there, but WAFB is the pick.

Also, is there a significant difference between the 6:00 pm news and the news at 10:00 pm, other than updates to ongoing events?

only difference is the 10:00 gives the breaking news murder of the night in North Baton Rouge.
