As a meteorologist, I give the nod to Jay Grymes and his staff at WAFB. Jay does his homework and his staff are professionals both on and off the air.
I have had run ins with Pat Shingleton at WBRZ. Apparently, some of Pat's ex-weather personnel from years ago thinks he is a type A a-hole. I cannot deny this.
WAFB does need some younger anchors at prime time. MRS. Donna Britt is a Baton Rouge Icon in the most respectable sense. It is time to put her out to pasture though.
Miss Diane Denton has been a key cog in the weather department since before I reached puberty. That's been 33 years ago.
The way i say when it comes to weather: Spat on Pat and have a hey day with Jay.

This is why WBRZ is better. Noticed something interesting at the bottom

Perhaps that's why Nussbaum left to go to WWL

WTF is a "hose pipe"? Where I come from, we have hoses, and we have pipes.

WAFB anchors are all assholes.

Also, is there a significant difference between the 6:00 pm news and the news at 10:00 pm, other than updates to ongoing events?
More people get shot after 1800.

Bruce Katz , a former WBRZ weatherman, told my dad many years ago , that he was sick of shingleton's demands and etc...

Compared to the NOLA TV news, WAFB and WBRZ are like watching a B-rated movie. Funny thing is WAFB has a brand new studio set and it's horrible. With that being said, I live in BR and must watch local news. I watch the 10:00 news and just switch back and forth between the two of them.

I hate the new weather graphics that WAFB just started using. Looks so childish and very hard to read.
Looks like an update from Apple. Hate it

I accidentally recorded the 6 o'clock news from WAFB instead of WBRZ, so I watched WAFB at 6 and WBRZ at 10. Here are some tidbits I gathered through one night of watching the local news.
It went really fast. They just had a couple random stories, sports, and the weather. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but that was definitely my first takeaway.
I wasn't a huge fan of the graphics on WAFB. Not that WBRZ is void of cheesy graphics, but it was definitely worse on WAFB, IMO.
I really don't need the weather updates, as I am either in my car, house, or office 95% of the day. Apparently, my wife won the color the weather t-shirt 15 years ago, so for that fact alone, she voted for WAFB.
They also ran a story about people guarding the army and navy recruiting offices. I had seen a picture of a guy sitting in a chair with a pistol, but the guy they interviewed had multiple guns and looked to be going to war in a shopping center on Seigen Lane. This story reminded me that I haven't been to the CiCi's pizza on Seigen since high school, and I should probably venture that direction for lunch later this week.
Both programs covered the same story about a shooting in North Baton Rouge, however, WAFB went into sad details with an interview with the family members. It was interesting to see the same event covered two different ways.
After watching the recorded 6 o'clock news and the live 10 o'clock news, being able to fast-forward through commercials is invaluable. The updated murder count at 10 isn't worth watching commercials.
TL;DR- After a 1 day experiment, I'll be watching the recorded 6 o'clock news from WBRZ.
