Look at the top of the line, tricked out Honda Odyssey or Toyota Sienna.
Scoff if you will. I did. But you will learn that there is no finer vehicle available to tote around your little heathens.
Father of 3. I can honestly say that our odyssey is the best money I’ve spent on our family.

just bought a 2020 xc90T6
best vehicle we have ever had by far
ride, fast as hell, super safe
we have had a range rover, 2 explorers, tahoe, expedition
I am a tall fatass and I love to drive it, much better than my explorer

Currently have an MDX. Not sure if the suspension just sucks, but feel every bump in the road, with larger potholes being unbearable. Also has the cvt transmission that we hate. Interior feels “cheap” for a pseudo-luxury vehicle as well

So happy with my XC90 that when the lease is up I'm going to get another one....Safest car on the road too.

I’ve driven them both.
I like them both
Have you tried the bmw or Mercedes suv?
Leasing or buying?

Volvo is really nice and a cheaper cost of ownership

Audi reliability comments are fake news. The new generation Audis (post 2017) have some of the highest reliability ratings in the industry.
Although if you are looking for more room the Q7 is kind of cramped. So probably not what she wants.

We test drove XC90 and Q7 just this last month and we settled on Q7. We drove a Q7 with 30k miles and an XC90 with 6k miles and the Audi felt newer than the XC90. We didn’t like the digital controls in the XC90 but that’s strictly opinion and not indicative of it being a problem. Lots of people give it great reviews. Certified pre owned Audi have unlimited mileage warranty til January 2025. The driving dynamics are pleasing to me as well and I enjoy being behind the wheel. This was a big factor when we were looking for the next vehicle
Edit: I’ll also add that if you NEED 3 rows, Q7 probably not a good fit as it is not exactly user friendly to access third row seats on routine basis. It feels like more of a “there when you need it” type feature. We did not need three rows in our case. I think between XC90 and Q7, a lot of it will come down to personal preference on feel and layout, not really that either is any worse than the other. This is a case where you must test drive them both.

Make sure you check out the service dept on either of those choices because you will definitely be visiting it often.

Test drove a Volvo and Audi and the tech in the Volvo was far and away better. And more options came standard in the Volvo. We went with the Volvo and love it.

I turn off all the ‘dynamic’ handling buttons on our XC, and I think it drives a bit better. Not even close to the same stratosphere as my 5 series, but apparently it’s supposed to be a marshmallow.

This is an excellent post, and I’ll expand on it, as the xc90 was my runner up before ultimately choosing the q7.
Driving dynamics- xc90 only comes in a 4 cyl whereas the q7 is available with the base 4 cyl and turbo v6. The v6 Q7 blows away the xc90. Don’t just look at Hp numbers.
Aesthetics- subjective but I think Volvo’s exterior is nicer than Q7.
Interior- as mentioned above, Volvo is 100% touch screen (although new Audis are now also, my previous generation isn’t) and I do not like this setup. I also feel the audi interior fit and finish is better than Volvo.
Cargo space and third row- Volvo wins both. The Q7 isn’t as spacious in the back.
2nd row- Audi Q7 second row is amazing, best in class. Incredibly spacious, 35/30/35 layout, each seat individually adjustable, 3 across latch.
When choosing between these cars, just prioritize what matters most. Absolutely need max 3rd row and cargo? Go with the Volvo. Occasional towing? V6 Audi Q7 is the answer.

If the Lexus GX looked better and had car play, it would be the whole package.
The 4Runner has CarPlay. Give it a try.

Just tow lighter stuff. The AWD makes up for a bit of gutlessness...and we have the T5.
