My brother graduated from Lsu and works for Goldman Sachs, so not really sure where this was going

UL, despite not getting the same fundin as LSWHO, is not that far behind!!
Well actually it is that far behind. “ULL” is as far behind LSU as LSU is behind Rice, Brown, and Cornell, in the US News rankings so... And again, by all means, LOL at LSU for being a far inferior academic institution to Cornell. It’s all in good fun. But just understand that that is literally how much worse “ULL” is than LSU.

Your parents must be proud.

Did he get recruited to work there straight out of LSU?

Show us on the doll where LSU touched you

So your school sucks but doesn't suck as bad as Louisiana and is twice the cost in a shitty city with ugly nuclear power plant tainted women. Amazing!!!

Tulane grads must have hired him.

Yeah but that’s the point. GS and firms like that don’t recruit out of schools like LSU. Actually they do for diversity programs but that’s another thing. Your brother got the job I’m guessing because he got a graduate degree at an elite school after LSU or else otherwise distinguished himself working in the field to get the job.

Impossible. I've been told on good authority, in this very thread no less, that there is a "ZERO" percent chance of getting a job with Goldman Sachs if you have only a state university degree, and furthermore that there is no amount of work experience or demonstrated value in the workplace that can change this.

Go to LSU and pay twice as much for a degree that holds the same weight as one from UL.

Ok fine. If you are a female immigrant from Mexico City or some random poster with 13 posts "brother" you have 0.005% chance at one of the 34,000 jobs at Goldman Sachs coming LSU.
Stay in school.

Holy shite quit melting. Elite banking and consulting firms don’t recruit out of state schools. That’s all these guys are saying and they’re 100% right.
I'm not melting. I already proved that that isn't "100% right".
Didn't your mother ever teach you not to speak in absolutes?

I love when people start with this stupid shite.
Just admit you were wrong and move on. You said there was a ZERO percent chance of an LSU graduate going to work for Goldman Sachs, yet, there is a perfect example of why you are wrong.
You could have gone with THREE percent, or ONE PERCENT, or .0001 percent, and I would have agreed with that. But you went absolute--NO WAY could someone from LSU get a job there.

You sound like that engineer that all the other engineers hate because you give us a bad image. You sound as professional as a fry cook. Also, having three degrees and being an engineering manager sounds like you have two degrees too many. So, you also have poor financial and decision making skills. Where I work, you'd be fired by now based on that alone. I know ULL engineers in prominent positions in many industries and students that are doing graduate work at GT, USC, and A&M. You're full of shite, Charles.
LSU is a bottom-of-the-barrel Flagship and doesn't differentiate from other in-state schools, ESPECIALLY in engineering.

I enjoyed my time at ULL (grad school).
Lafayette and the surrounding area were far nicer than what I saw in Baton Rouge. Better food, better culture, and really good people all around.
Also, whenever folks ask me where I went to grad school they are always interested to hear more about ULL. I feel if I said “LSU” that those conversations would probably just fizzle.
That said, I had a lot of friends who went to LSU and that’s how I ended up finding ULL. I also had a lot of fun meeting up with those same friends for football games at Death Valley. The best tailgating in the SEC, IMO.

2 recent college grads, one from LSU and the other one from UL-L-Carencro, went to Manhattan, L.A., Seatle, Chicago (pick any) to interview for a job. Since no employer in those areas ever heard of UL-L-Carencro, or even gave a frick, who do you think got the job?
