I'm a New Orleans native and have only been in BR since I started at LSU in 2011 but is there a reason why Tara and Broadmoor HS are only 5 mins away from each other? Are there that many HS students in that area?
Back when they were neighborhood schools there was a need.
I remember Tara had "5 guys" off their football team sign with LSU one season.
Lee Lemoine
Steve Cassidy
Pat Donahoo(sp)
??? Norman
Can't think of the 5th name

A streak of gun violence in Baton Rouge continued Sunday night as a 45-year-old man was found shot dead, Baton Rouge police said.
Around 10 p.m. in the 1800 block of N. Harco Dr, police said Marcus Clay, 45, of 1804 N. Harco Dr., was shot multiple times and died at an area hospital.
Investigators believe shooting resulted from an altercation.
I'll reserve judgement until the SWB press conference. Anyone know what time that will be?
Oh, it was black on black.... nevermind we won't hear a peep from her office.

A lot more students used the public schools in BR before they all went to shite. At least the non magnets

So, what is the death rate from gun shots now this year?
Just a dam shame.

I think we're out-pacing last year by 10 murders so far.
ETA: we currently have twice as many murders as Oakland, CA.

Looked at a map...that's over by Belaire High School.
Such a lovely area.
I lived near there in the late 90s. It's was a shithole then, but relatively safe. The urban sprawl was just taking hold. Now I guess it's full on ghetto.
Sad to see this cancer-like decay take over a community. Watching a city die of untreated disease much like an untreated cancer patient would slowly wither and die.

I still want them to explain why none of them live in North Baton Rouge. Of the activists, I believe only Silky Slim actually lives in NBR. Kibbles, Helmet Head, and Gravy all reside in very white and safe areas of SBR. Why is that?
